About Sarah Marie

Hi! I'm Sarah. I'm a professional GM. I love reading, writing, and playing with my cat. More importantly, I love getting together with friends online and creating fun stories together! I started playing D&D about 8 years ago and haven't stopped. Since then, I have made an effort to continue expanding my rpg horizons, playing and running many systems like SW5e, Kids on Bikes, A Familiar Problem, Daggerheart, and more! 5 years ago I was asked to DM for a group of brand new players and it was such a blast. So, here I am, looking for more ways to run games for players of all levels and walks of life! Let it be known that I am extremely beginner-friendly. I love any opportunity to introduce someone new to the game I love so much. I place heavy emphasis on worldbuilding and immersion, using an interest in anthropology and culture to create rich and diverse worlds. My GM style places a lot of emphasis on the storytelling and roleplaying aspect of D&D and less of a focus on game mechanics. Though I tend to throw challenging combat at my players, it always has connections to the overall story of the game. So... if all that sounds like something you're into, we could be a great fit!

How Sarah Marie runs games

As a GM, I like to leave as much space as possible for my players to drive the story and make choices that excite them. I try to make my games as immersive and fleshed out as possible, and I make an effort to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone that I play with. I place emphasis on the storytelling and roleplay aspects of tabletop games, preferring to create a compelling narrative than a slaughter fest. When I include combat in a session, it has story relevance but also will call for strategic thinking from my players. I don't pull any punches. My job is to make you feel like your victories are earned, not given. All of my Dungeons & Dragons 5e games utilize the 2024 rules.
