About Ricky Rolls

Ricky here! I began my DnD journey like many of you; on a submarine below the depths of the ocean using only some dice, paper, theater of the mind, and a few good friends. Since then, I have been the forever GM for for my friend group for roughly 5 years. I have run everything from one shots to multiple year campaigns. I take great pride in crafting a well thought out storyline with plenty of room for my table to improvise and alter the narrative to their play style. Nothing is more important to me than making sure the Table is having the adventure they seek in an environment that is comfortable for them! What to expect from me as a GM: ♦️I sit down with each player individually before session 0 to help curate a character that blends seamlessly into the world we are playing in while maintaining the main themes of that characters personality. The goal being to create a character that they can find a deep connection with thematically or emotionally. ♦️I take the same care with my core npc's and bring them to life with expert voices and mannerisms ♦️I keep plot hooks obvious enough so that the players know exactly where the adventure intends to lead them, but I leave enough space for the party to go where they want and do the things they like ♦️I craft side stories for all my player characters that relate personally to their backstory while also relating it to the main quest I look forward to being your GM! I can't wait to go on an epic journey with you in the near future!

How Ricky Rolls runs games

I focus on character heavy themes. My favorite part of being a GM is the world building and interwoven character arcs. As such, I work personally with each player to craft a backstory that not only suites them, but blends effortlessly into the world in which they are adventuring. And as much care as I take with my players, I do so as well with my NPC's. The story is truly brought to life through the characters with which we play. I focus on roleplay and exploring the themes of each players story and how that affects the world around them. I do run combat, but normally as a tool to drive the story along. That is not to say, that if I have a combat hungry table, that we can't fight everything we see! I look forward to telling your story!
