About PlaceboDM
Hi, I’m PlaceboDM, and heres my promise to you. Tagline: Laughter, trauma, and triumph. Usually in that order. I’ve been running games for over a decade across D&D 5e, Pathfinder, and Starfinder, building worlds where laughter, tension, and sheer ridiculousness all hit initiative at the same time. My tables run on Rule of Cool, collaborative storytelling, and the belief that failure is just another way to make great TV. You’ll get cinematic combat, NPCs with too much personality, and stories that punch back — but never at the cost of fun. I love teaching new players and challenging veterans alike. Whether you’re here to joke your way through chaos or chase character arcs with teeth, my goal is simple: Everyone at my table leaves with a story worth it.

I became a GM because

How PlaceboDM runs games
The Rule of Cool always wins out over red tape, and I’ll reward creativity, bold ideas, and dramatic flair every time. My worlds are built to react, not railroad, so expect the story to twist based on what you do — not what I planned. You’ll see a mix of big emotional beats, fast-paced combat, and off-the-cuff comedy that keeps everyone on their toes. I aim for that sweet spot where the table is laughing one minute and holding its breath the next. If you want a game that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable, you’ll fit right in.
PlaceboDM's ideal table
My tables are collaborative, energetic, and a little chaotic — in the best way. I want players who show up ready to build the story together, respect each other, and contribute to a fun, safe environment. You’ll find a mix of banter, bold moves, and meaningful moments, where everyone gets a chance to shine. I keep the pacing tight, the spotlight shared, and the energy high — but all fun comes with a baseline of mutual respect, consent, and consideration for your fellow adventurers. Come ready to laugh, take risks, and push boundaries creatively, knowing the table is a place where everyone’s ideas and experiences matter.
