About Phil Wert

I'm currently the Director of Operations for the Philadelphia Area Gaming Expo. I've been playing TTRPGs since 1985 and have taught dozens of new players how best to engage in this great hobby. I teach high school as a living, so storytelling, teaching, and proficient verbal communication are my strong suites. I'd love to run a game for you. Let's see where our adventures take us.

How Phil Wert runs games

I mostly adhere to the RAW (Rules as Written), but also like to be flexible when the situation warrants. Roleplaying and voices are something I'm quite comfortable with, but running very crunchy tactical combat is also something I enjoy as well. I like to add realism to my games without getting bogged down with minutiae, which is a fine line. Player agency is important, but so is providing actionable scenarios for players to explore, while providing meaningful choices and real consequences. Come along and see what great adventures we can journey on together!

Phil Wert's ideal table

My day job is teaching high school, so I'm used to interacting with many different kinds of personalities. Because of this, I'm very with having an eclectic mix at my table. I like having a good bit of structure to ensure the game moves along, although it's very important to have room for laughs as well.
