About Peatmoss
My introduction to TTRPGs was through an after school D&D club I attended in middle school. After the first handful of sessions, I was hooked and the game became a major part of my life. When our forever DM moved away, I took his place and ran my first campaign. That was when I discovered that if there was one thing I loved more than playing D&D, it was bringing the joy and magic of the game to others.

My favorite books are
I fell in love with the King Killer Chronicles as a young teenager. Still eagerly waiting for the author to release the last book in the main trilogy!
How Peatmoss runs games
My GMing style tends to be pretty sandbox-y, with an emphasis on role play and creative problem solving over combat and strict adherence to the rules. I try to run my games with a combination of whimsical absurdity and classic heroics. Goofy goblins with puny names living alongside war hardened criminals with tragic backstories. Most campaigns take place in a high fantasy world of my own design with a moderate amount of homebrew content. Some media I feel my play style tends to emulate are Over the Garden Wall, Centaur World, and Disenchantment.

My favorite trope is...
I love tropes ain fantasy, but probably none more than the serious goofball. I love absolutely off the wall characters who are, against all odds, surprisingly competent in their field.
Rules are...
I view rules as a tool to facilitate the game. If a rule starts to impede the group's ability to enjoy the game, it may be discarded. If instituting a new rule simplifies a complicated mechanic or incorporates a fun new mechanic it might be added.
When it comes to voices
What I lack in skill I make up for in commitment to the bit.

I love it when a player
I love it went my players think outside of the box and find creative solutions to the problems I set before them. While it can be frustrating when a player/party completely sidesteps a challenge, I can't help also being elated they were able to come up with something I had never considered.
