About Mac Egan
With over a decade of experience as a GM and a life time of experience as a storyteller I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity to GM for you. At my table, the focus of the game is always on the story telling and the enjoyment of my players. I aim to create an environment where every player can be seen, safe, and entirely themselves. I begin every game with a session 0 to help the players get to know each other, create characters, and set firm boundaries. My table always operates with an "X card" and in our session 0 we will also decide if we want to veil any topics or avoid certain things all together. My table is also a place for stories that are well paced and where something exciting happens every single session. I split time between the players as evenly as I can, and I am comfortable pushing players to make bold and exciting choices. My table is a place where "mistakes" are gifts. I am a professional theater maker, director, and improvisor and I am empowered by players who will make interesting choices, take big swings, and be excited by failure. My table is welcoming to all skill levels. With a MA in Theater Education I have the tools to help newbies learn the game and for veterans to constantly learn more about themselves as storytellers. I am happy to answer any questions, and take any suggestions about my style and skill set. Do not hesitate to reach out!

When I'm not running games I'm...
teaching theater to young people. I love writing plays with my students through group storytelling. During my work as a teacher I am constantly grateful for my GM experience.
How Mac Egan runs games
In my game, players should expect a fast paced adventure where every moment matters. As an actor and comedian I love to create silly voices for every NPC to increase the fun and immersion of the game. I care deeply about role play being a fun and vital component of the game. I am also passionate about combat where things matter other than getting your enemies HP to 0. In every conflict there will be something that your character wants and multiple ways for them to get it. However! That also means the bad guys are going to want stuff too! The stakes of my combats rarely revolve around survival, and often reward the creativity of the players and their characters. The most important thing for me in any TTRPG is the enjoyment of everyone at the table. My game is designed to put you, the player, in the spotlight. The world of my game is a world that cares about YOU. Every NPC should has a reason to exist, and I will follow the plot hooks that interest my players before I go on any pre-determined path for the session.

I deal with rules issues by...
asking questions! Rules in any RPG can be dense, confusing, and at times subjective. I always approach rules disputes by asking for my player to tell me more about the rule in question. My goal is for everyone to have as much fun as possible and I am open to new interpretations to rules.
Mac Egan's ideal table
My table is first and foremost a place to gather together and tell unforgettable stories. To facilitate these stories I... * Develop a community of trust where the players are clear with each other about their boundaries and playstyle. * Always look for the fun even in darker moments in the story. *Treat each character with the respect that they deserve. If you are a player that is looking to tell awesome stories, have fun, take big role play risks, and learn a thing or two along the way, my table is for you!

I love it when a player
makes a big choice, especially if that choice isn't the objectively "correct". People are flawed and so too are characters in RPGs! Take a big swing and get excited about the consequences.
