About Byron
Loud and too-easily-excited is how most of my friends describe me.

I became a GM because
Amazingly, its the only part of my life where I get to make use of my history degree.
People are always surprised when I tell them
I'm deathly allergic to cats, although they are one of my favourite animals.
How Byron runs games
I like to take an open and player-centered approach to GMing, to ensure everyone is having a pleasant time when the the game should be fun, and challenging when it should be.

My games focus on...
The personal horror created by the moral failings of people, and the heroism that a person can indulge in by taking a stand. In a TTRPG the most boring characters are ones that don't have any goals or motivation. Even if a character is evil, they can still carry the theme of the game.
Rules are...
meant to guide the flow of play, and create a fair and even ground for everyone to play on. If the rules make a game un-fun, the rules themselves are breaking the ethical purpose of a game: to have fun.
Byron's ideal table
My "ideal" table would be a group of people who all share the same sense of comedy, all have fun playing together, but also take the game seriously and can take notes and solve puzzles. That's an unreasonable expectation though, because most players want to relax after work, and this is a recreational space for varied group of people. Not everyone wants a serious game with responsibilities like notetaking. So I think the question of a GM's "ideal" table is a little flawed, especially in a monetized space like this.
