About me

My years of GMing have taught me many things, like how handing player a sad wet dog of a man is the easiest way to create an NPC they'll love, and Mimics make for great pets. I love making and running games that truly feel like a collaborative effort, a game that players can become immersed in. Hi! I'm Rex! I'm 25 and an AroAce theatre nerd who loves ttrpgs. I've been playing ttrpgs for about a decade now and have been a GM for most of that time. I live in France studying to be an English teacher though grew up in Australia so English is my first language. I love creating stories and acting, with Voice Acting being a hobby of mine. I'm a huge fan of roleplay in games and could spend hours roleplaying if given the chance. I've run and played in various systems, and so I have experience to run games in those systems as well as help new players learn them. The systems I'm familiar with include: Alice Is Missing Anime Campaign (Epithets) Daggerheart Demigods Digimon: Digital Adventure Dungeons and Dragons (5e) Fabula Ultima Masks: A New Generation Monster of the Week Mutants and Masterminds Pokemon Tabletop Adventures 2 Pokemon Tabletop United You Awaken in a Strange Place

GM Style

My GMing style is very much that of a storyteller. I excel in the roleplay and improv aspects of ttrpgs more so than combat. I'm a hobbyist voice actor so most of my NPCs will have at least slightly different voices to differentiate them and I try convey their feelings and mannerisms through their voices. While I'm not a huge fan of combat, and it's definitely my weakest area as a GM, I try my best to make it enjoyable for my players, usually by adding different objectives or interesting mechanics for the monsters. Random encounters aren't very common in my games though I do try to add frequent story or lore based encounters for those who enjoy combat. I love worldbuilding, I have a DnD world that I have been crafting alongside my games for years, expanding and fleshing out the world little by little with each campaign I run. I will often give players the opportunity to be part of that process, creating smaller folklores and details in my world, such as asking players to come up with a legend associated with a statue they encounter or asking them to describe a ceremony that would be performed for a deity. The games I run tend to lean more whimsical. I enjoy running heroic campaigns though on occasion will dip into villainous territory, though it's not very common. I like to give players a mix of different tones and styles to make campaigns a little more interesting, a story about exploration in a new land could dip into horror for a few sessions as the party explores a haunted forest for example. My goal in every campaign I run is to have moments when players can laugh, cry and stare at their screens in shock, all while enjoying themselves and the stories we create together.
