Hello! My name is Taylor or Murchie_art on most social media. I am a Special education paraprofessional by day and a tabletop loving nerd by night (and during the day too). I love the art of collective storytelling and creating a safe and exciting table players want to come back to over and over again. I love telling stories that are roleplay heavy and fantasy leaning. I am a DM who prides themselves in their ability to balance serious moments with silly-goofy shenanigans. I love weaving backstories into even the shortest of campaigns and will often build the campaign points around the stories the players wish to tell. I am a femme-leaning DM who utilizes safety tools to prioritize safety and comfort for players and to ensure everyone at the table can have an enjoyable time. This applies especially to players of marginalized communities. Harassment or prejudice of any kind towards any member of the table will not be tolerated and will result in removal from the game without a session refund.

How Taylor runs games

I am a roleplay heavy DM who is a sucker for juicy drama and the most chaotic choices. I like handing out goodies and bonuses for my players whenever I can. As a Warning: it is highly likely that I will become just as obsessed with your character as you are.

I deal with rules issues by gaining a consensus from the table. It's everyone's story and as long as it isn't a game breaking decision then it should be up to everyone to decide whether or not the ruling on something is fair!

My favorite trope is the Ally turned big bad. Especially when it is executed well and creates a shock for the table. I also love using this trope to create red herrings that bring juicy tension to the game!

Rules are...

Rules are great guidelines for having a fair and structured game, however I am not opposed to bending or editing the rules for flavor and fun. Striking a balance between bending the rules and adhering to important ones is something I pride myself on as a DM

Taylor's ideal table

My ideal table is one that first and foremost is a safe and comfortable place for everyone involved. The safety is the foundation for truly great storytelling. Additionally, I love it when a table is willing to take big swings and keep me on my toes! I enjoy it when a player comes up with a solution I would have never thought of that makes me have to pivot the story!

I think min/maxing...

I think min/maxing can be fun when paired with genuine character development. I want players to be powerful but what comes with min/maxing is weaknesses along with strength. When min/maxxing is a character choice is makes the gameplay more fun.

My table is not the place for Discrimination of any kind. My stories are not the place to play out power fantasies that harm marginalized communities in real life. Racism, sexism, homophobia, fatphobia, or any kind of prejudice is not welcome at my table.
