About Morkall GM
Hail and Well met! I'm Michael, and I'm here to take players on journeys of fantastical proportions! I come from a strong background of theatre: ranging from a myriad of forms such as staged Shakespeare, Renaissance Faires, Larps and podcasts. I am extremely passionate about guiding players through stories of adventure, and with me you'll feel the thrums of legendary beats to the footsteps of your character's highs and lows. Growing up a giant nerd and obsessing over game rulebooks, I've been a GM for people from across the country and have experience running games from classics like 5e and Call of Cthulhu to more "unique" modules like 7th Sea, Candela Obscura and Monster of the Week. Through my GM skills and experience, players will become engaged, invested and overall delighted by the worlds they inhabit and the threads of story they weave and pull at. Adventure onward, friends!

I became a GM because
I grew up with 3 younger brothers and would be the one who had to read all the rules for new board games for them so they could play and have fun - now I take joy in teaching people how to play Tabletop games (and board games, too) so they can fully enjoy themselves in an immersive experience!
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Theatrical, Fun & bearing a voice that would do well in ASMR
When I'm not running games I'm...
Am prepping games! That involves finding and reading books that inspire me, painting miniatures, crafting soundtracks and all the production bits in-between! When not doing something TTRPG-related, I am usually listening to podcasts, gaming, reading spooky books or vibing with my pets.
How Morkall GM runs games
Joining one of my games is like walking into a story, complete with immersion, character voices, dramatic tension and a touch of comedic flair! I focus heavily on the plot, the character relationships, and interactions with the world around the players. I make every beat of the story count, whether it is in the heat of combat or the dance of quips at a banquet of quirky NPCs. I desire to leave my players delighted, invested and buzzing to continue jaunting through the woven tales I craft around them. I take the comfort of my players' immersions very seriously, so when joining one of my games, I will always include a set of Lines and Veils tailored to their parameters. To make sure all feel prepared, I will have sessions zeroes scheduled prior to play, as well as access to my Discord Channel where they can reach out to me or utilize my archives of gaming resources.

I deal with rules issues by...
doing what is best for the Story. I rarely let a rules issue gum up the works of a heightened scene, so as to avoid derailing things.
My games focus on...
Character growth and relationships, the urgency of the major story threads and creating enthralling scenes of danger/drama/etc.
When it comes to voices
I have a cavalcade of options - it is one of my favorite parts of GMing; donning the voice and mannerisms of an NPC/creature to enhance the immersion - or at least get a laugh
Morkall GM's ideal table
Ideally, all players are welcome at my table so long as they're there to have fun and enjoy a safe space with fellow adventurers and storytellers. No place for hate!

touching the cursed object with reckless abandon
I love it when a player
makes a bold choice! Whether it's in a scene or combat, it's always exciting to see a player think outside the box and surprise me!
I think metagaming...
is fine so long as it doesn't become overbearing or derailing. We are welcome to assist our fellow players with our knowledge, but it's not fun to be given the backseat driver treatment from someone else. It's great when we all can react and get hyped for each other about a moment in-game!
