About Morden
The stories I run are player driven, and work very hard to provide the adventurers with a unique, memorable experience. I understand the time you spend at the table is time away from the world. My goal is to leave you dreaming about sessions from one week to the next; to think about your adventures in the quiet moments of the day. I want you to carry this character with you throughout time. I use everything I've learned from both journaling and writing to camping, HEMA and medieval history in my campaigns. With how I run games, I create a world with the people inside it, and I respond and react to how those players interact with NPCs and the world. They create the story, they make the history. Without the players, I as a DM am nothing. It is more important on my end to know my world and the people in it than it is to know the specifics of the story. With the exception of 1 campaign, I've run and finished every campaign I've started. (Again, most of this is attributed to the dedication and commitment of my players). I participated and completed 8 of the NANOWRIMO challenges before they shut down that competition. 2 of those challenges I later published. (The Shadowdancer & Into Hell). When I run campaigns, I run epics. I am not a dungeon-crawler GM. I want the players to care about the characters they create and know that their choices and backgrounds matter.

I became a GM because
I like writing/creating stories. I have found that having players run through those stories create unpredictable, unique, complex themes that I probably wouldn't have come up with on my own. I like creating worlds in which players can create life-long memories from.
My favorite shows/movies are
Lord of the Rings Tron: Legacy The Book of Eli The Accountant Edge of Tomorrow Minority Report The Little Prince Iron Giant Princess Bride Secret Level's Warhammer short film: 'And they shall know no fear' Shadowless Sword Equilibrium Sherlock Holmes Last Samurai Matrix The Promised Neverland

How Morden runs games
I do enjoy roleplaying. When combat arises, I do try to be efficient so it moves a little quicker (I know battles can get bogged down). I create stories for potential epics. If you enter into my world be it on Toril (Faerun), Krynn, Eberron, the Worlds of Darkness or the Star Wars galaxy, or my world, Tarrandria, know that you are part of its history and will likely become part of its lore later on. Worlds and NPCs are defined and shaped by your actions and choices. Not everything is high-stakes, but my stories are never inconsequential. I am fully aware that the players are giving up their time and that that time is sometimes often limited. Knowing this, I will do everything I can to make the experience you have a memorable one. This does not mean I'll just let you 'win' all the way through. There are challenges, there are consequences to making honorable as well as selfish decisions. I usually GM for those who are dedicated and can commit to a long journey. However, I always make sure there my adventures are finite. I'm not one to have players participate for several months or years and not give them an ending. Though the players shape the history and events, there is always a time limit on when quests, tasks and overall missions can be fulfilled. If you stick with it, there will always be an ending with me. My stories are for my players. Additionally, I will always return the effort and dedication they show to me.

Morden's ideal table
My table generally tends to consist of those who invested into their characters and are looking for something more than a dungeon crawl. This is not to say they are games without humor; what I mean to say is what you do means something. When you enter into my campaigns, you as a player, matter. For good or ill. While I appreciate rules keeping things grounded, I'm not one to follow them over logic. Due to the internet being what it is, I create 90% of the monsters and story/adventures. Unfortunately, there won't be a lot of wiki-searching for where you will encounter. I am mindful of my players. Players who join my campaign are rewarded for decency, playing their character and engaging in the story. I do my best to adapt to whatever they decide, from plot lines to combat. While I enjoy dark fantasy and more serious settings, I don't go heavily into horror or gore. I am more than capable in doing so, I simply choose not too. I firmly believe stories can be mature and complex without having copious anime amounts of blood spraying from creatures.

I am for a vibe that's...
A bit more on the serious end. The setting to most campaigns I run border dark fantasy.
I love it when a player
Remembers their abilities and what they have in their inventory. Hahaha. Partially kidding. Tells other people about the campaign because they are enjoying it that much.
My table is not the place for...
Being evil. I won't stop someone who wants to do evil acts, just remember my world is as I said--driven by players. There are consequences for actions. I will leave it at that.
