How Miriam runs games
I love creating moments for players' characters to shine. My games incorporate puzzles, twists, and plenty of opportunity for combat. I think there are many ways to resolve a problem and will reward creative thinking. I believe in playing by the rules, but there is always room for a "rule of cool" if something would further the story or just be an epic moment.

I deal with rules issues by...
looking things up quickly if it's to the player's advantage. If you're trying shenanigans that go beyond "Rules as Written" or it's taking too much game time, I'll make a ruling and then run it by the group to make sure we all feel it's fair.
When it comes to voices
we do the best we can as a table! It's meant to be a silly game of make believe and strategy. No judgements here if your Irish accents slips into Australian halfway through a sentence - we're here to have fun!
Miriam's ideal table
Character and Story Driven Social and role playing are featured heavily in my games. The goal is to be immersed in the world and enjoying telling a story together! Interesting narrative choices and creative thinking are always rewarded, and I'll consult the table if there are any rulings that require DM discretion to make sure the table feels the decisions are logical and fair.

I love it when a player
Asks questions and is learning about the game! I always say that the best part of DMing is showing new players the ropes and giving them the chance to join the wonderful world of table top games :)
I think it's a red flag when players...
Use their characters as an excuse to be homophobic, racist, ableist or sexist through actions or speech and argue that those decisions are "in-character" and should be tolerated. (spoiler - they will not be tolerated)
