GM style

I’m an actor, and so my characterizations tend to be very florid and fun, and improv is totally my bag. I love to work with good roleplayers and find inspiration in players/DMs/GMs who know how to really inhabit a role and make characters fly off the page. It makes for a fun game for everyone, even for players who may at first feel nervous about role playing – it makes them come out of their shell if they know that their fellow players and DM are willing to really put the RP in RPG without losing the sense that it is, after all, just a game. I have been playing online and streaming my games on Twitch (produced solely by myself every Friday evening), and although there is a smaller audience than other video games on Twitch, my players and followers in chat have fun whenever we play. I’m also quite well versed in technology use, and produce videos for my games with royalty-free music and art. Going the extra mile with this creatively really makes the difference with the audience and with my players. I also like to challenge my players at whatever level of proficiency they're at, either with strategic combat, tricky puzzles, or social character dilemmas - whatever scratches their proverbial gaming itch. Finally, I’m a dad, so playing with kids is something that I’m working on specializing. Holding kids’ attention, helping them make good decisions, and keeping the story flowing are a skills that I help to foster not only with my own children, but in other kids’ games when I run them. When I was a kid, a really great DM made the difference with me in enjoying roleplaying games, so I can only hope to be the same inspiration for other kids.
