About Matt Dwyer

I have been DMing for around 5 years now and I absolutely love it! I am a narrative focused DM who focuses more on the story than on the nitty-gritty of the rules. I am familiar with running a wide range of systems, including DnD 5e, Genesys, and Call of Cthulhu, and I have experience with running games for different sized groups (the smallest party I have ever DMed for was 3 people, whereas the largest was 14). My priority during a game is to make sure that all of the players are comfortable with the environment and able to have a good time, regardless of their level of knowledge about the game.

How Matt Dwyer runs games

I focus on role play and character interaction, with combat being important but player choices having greater impact than dice rolls. I have no problem with lasting consequences in game, but I do not kill characters unless told before hand that the player is comfortable with this. I love incorporating player backgrounds into the larger story!
