About Lorekeeper Marian
I've been teaching for over a decade and have recently taken that experience to teaching and running games at conventions and game shops across the country. I love being able to roll with what players throw at me to build a world and experience they enjoy.

When I'm not running games I'm...
Teaching games at conventions, or teaching other subjects as a career. I love helping people learn about new things, especially things I'm passionate about, and I live by the motto "There are no stupid questions."
How Lorekeeper Marian runs games
If you're stepping into one of my games, you can expect a story-rich, emotionally grounded, and meaningful journey. I’m the kind of GM who thrives on character-driven storytelling, layered worldbuilding, and dynamic scenes that shift between social intrigue, moral choice, and high-stakes action. I love a sense of roleplay that encourages players to sometimes make choices that may be risky, or to put player characters in situations that seem to have no right or wrong answer. My sessions often feature: Social encounters with real consequences, sometimes with countdown mechanics or tension that can spiral into combat if diplomacy fails. Semi-Tactical combat that rewards creativity. Expect varied terrain, meaningful objectives, and enemies with personalities and goals, not just stat blocks. I value collaboration and player agency—your choices change the world. But actions have consequences, and I don’t pull punches. That said, I’m never out to “win” against players.

When it comes to voices
I try. I am not a professional voice actor, but I will try to distinguish NPCs from my "real" voice, both for enjoyment and clarity.
Lorekeeper Marian's ideal table
My table is relaxed, story-focused, and welcoming. I like running games where character choices matter and where players can connect with the world and each other. There's a mix of roleplay, exploration, and combat—nothing too flashy, but enough to keep things moving and meaningful. Players who do well at my table usually enjoy character development, group storytelling, and a balance between talking in character and working as a team. I try to keep things respectful, organized, and fun, and I appreciate players who are kind, engaged, and flexible. If you like a cooperative, story-driven game where everyone has room to contribute, you’ll probably feel at home here.

I love it when a player
Makes interesting choices. When a player says, "I want to try to X... is that possible?" and I have to stop and think of how that would work in the fiction. Is it possible? I try to always lean towards "Yes" or at least come to some sort of middle ground.
