About Travis

Game Master for 6 years on Roll20, AlchemyRPG, as well as in-person. It is my absolute favorite thing to do in this world. My goal is to create an unforgettable experience that we can carry into our real lives. The characters we make tell the story about who we are. Through collaborative storytelling, we make each other braver, wiser, and, ultimately, kinder. I truly believe that TTRPG can be a powerful tool to help heal wounds. I would like to spread that belief as far and wide as I can. More than anything, I hope you'll allow me to work with you to tell a great story that will be remembered for years to come. đź’—

How Travis runs games

I want my players to stretch their acting chops, unravel mysteries, solve puzzles, and overcome insane odds. The phrase "subvert your expectations" is used a lot, but it is never more gratifying than seeing players do just that to provide the best experience for everyone at the table, including the GM. I am only embellishing the experience; whether it's through unique voices, special effects and music, or dynamic battles and role-playing, it's the players who ultimately write the story. Players need to feel that they had a major part in creating the world they want to live in, so that we in the real world can feel more in control of ours.

Featured Prompts

I deal with rules issues by...

Establishing boundaries beforehand, talking it out, and reaching an equitable agreement. If RAW works best, then we'll stick to it. Sometimes, though, we need to bend the rules in order to foster creativity.

I prep by

Find out as much as I can about the party, look through maps and imagine the kinds of scenarios that could play out, and write as much story as possible.

My games focus on...

Mystery, righting wrongs, exploring the world, having fun and becoming the best version of ourselves.

Travis's ideal table

It all starts with respect; respect the other players at the table, have fun, and do your best to play your role. Whether you're solving a puzzle or overcoming insane odds in combat, the goal is to help tell a memorable story together. It can be goofy or dramatic, but, either way, as in life, we all work together to create the experience.

Featured Prompts

I love it when a player

Gets really into their character and interacts with the other players at the table.

I think it's a red flag when players...

Are not willing to compromise and allow their insecurities to leech into the game. We are here to work together to tell a story and have fun.

My table is not the place for...

Hate. Hate should only be reserved for the fictional bad guys.
