About me

My name is Isaac and I have been playing Tabletop Role-Playing Games (TTRPGs) since 2016. I am a video game Narrative Designer and a freelance film reviewer. I am also a DMsGuild writer for three adventure modules. But my D&D 5e days are over, and I prefer to run other systems instead. I reside in Jakarta, Indonesia, but that does not stop me from running games for people around the world. Some of my longest-playing players are from Canada, Mexico, and India. Through TTRPGs, I have married the love of my life, forged long-lasting friendships, and share my love of the hobby. Due to my current financial situation, and with the encouragement of my friends & players, I have decided to become a GM for Hire. I am currently running two Pathfinder 2e paid campaigns, and have previously run a D&D 5e paid campaign and two Call of Cthulhu paid campaigns. I will say my experience with various TTRPG systems have made me use the things that I have learned from those games and apply it to all of my games. My focus on story, narrative, immersion, and well-paced timing & moments will be something that you can look forward to. Horror, Mystery, Thriller, and Sociopolitical stories are my expertise, but I am also willing to run games that are outside of that. You can find my players testimonies and reviews of my GMing in this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V9zbLrQyO6Pi1bf1gSa7zank-eYz23R4VLOQp80z7R4/edit?usp=sharing I will see you at my table!

GM Style

I put emphasis on my storytelling and try to engage with the players by collaborating with them in order to tell the story together (something that I learn from running Powered by the Apocalypse/Forged in the Dark games). Collaborative storytelling is an interactive way to make sure that the players have influence on how the story. Even for traditional and simulationist games such as Pathfinder 2e and Call of Cthulhu, I try to put some collaborative storytelling to keep things different from time to time. Roleplay is a talent that I have honed for almost a decade now, and my love for movies have influenced the way I roleplay my characters. On top of that, I find voice acting to be a fun way to roleplay, and very helpful to present a character's tone and emotion, and really helps the players to immerse themselves when engaging with my characters. Music and atmospheric sound are very important as well to get that immersion.

Isaac runs his games like a movie, you'd be pleased to know he excels in setting up the scene and sharing the spotlight between each PCs. His clever choice of background music pulls us in and hyped up epic moments. He's experienced with many different systems and always preface our expectations coming in, aligning our mindset and expectations before we jump to play.

For those who are new in TTRGP, Isaac is one of my first GMs back then, he welcomed me as best as anyone could introduce a friend to the setting. Along with that, he's a very passionate being both in real life and TTRPG, which is why I stuck around this old goof. When the players or situation demands it, he'll give it his all in roleplaying and delivering the meat of the story. And we must always appreciate a person who willingly(or rather unwillingly due to people wanting to be player instead of GM) became the designated GM(or forever-GM heheh). So yeah, if you want a veteran, reliable and available GM for your TTRPG whims, Isaac IS--just like Elijah Wood in Spy Kids 3D--The Guy.

He really works with the players to incorporate their backstories into each game, whether it's a oneshot or a campaign. That way you're looking forward to what he has in store for you characters. One time my character was gifted a magic staff by his treant lover. As we leveled up, the staff evolved into a mini treant - our son. Needless to say I protected him at all cost.

Issac excels at weaving immersive stories that draw you in from the very first session. Their ability to bring the world to life through detailed descriptions and dynamic storytelling makes every session feel like a chapter of an epic novel. The plot twists, NPC development, and overall world-building kept me invested in the story and excited to see what would happen next.

A very solid and dependable GM, His greatest asset is the creativity and planning that he does to weave the story around the player characters and allows each of us to shine and 'take the wheel'. Of course, this applies primarily to his custom/original Campaigns though he can do modules as well I think to experience the full extent of his GMing is to play one of those custom games where he could build and shape the world as he wants molding and carving as he wishes. We have played dozens of systems together from popular ones like Pathfinder, Call of Cthulu, and Vampire The Masquerade to more obscure ones like Kult and Thousand Arrows. He does one-shots for more obscure and indie systems semi-regularly as well as the paid campaigns that he runs either one is a treat. If you want to have a taste then those one-shots are a good place to start and see his storytelling as well as his GM style even if it's only a taste.
