About Julien Sensei
My name is Julien, I’m 39, and I’m a French teacher in LA. I first played D&D back in 1997 when I was in middle school, and after a long hiatus, I returned a few years ago, rediscovering my love for tabletop RPGs and the creative freedom they offer. I started DMing last year and quickly realized how much I enjoy crafting worlds, weaving stories, and bringing characters to life.

How Julien Sensei runs games
I’m a storytelling-focused DM who blends roleplay, high-stakes combat, and mysteries at a structured pace that keeps the story moving. Every module I use serves as a flexible framework that I modify to meaningfully incorporate your character’s backstory and motivations. Before the game starts, we’ll have a private exchange to craft your story so it’s woven directly into the campaign. My goal is to create immersive worlds where your choices matter, challenges feel impactful, and mysteries keep you engaged—all while giving you the freedom to shape the narrative.

Character development, weaving personal stories into immersive adventures full of mystery and challenge.
Julien Sensei's ideal table
My table is collaborative, story-driven, and focused on creating memorable adventures together. I welcome players who enjoy character development, roleplay, and immersing themselves in a living world where choices truly matter. The vibe is creative and engaging—mysteries to solve, high-stakes combat to face, and plenty of room for personal arcs to shine. Each character’s backstory is important and will have its moment in the spotlight, but the adventure is ultimately about the group as a whole. New players are welcome, provided they’re open to teamwork and narrative play, while experienced players will appreciate the deeper layers of strategy and story. Respect, open communication, and a shared commitment to fun are the cornerstones of every session.

I think metagaming...
Ruins the RP. I prefer when characters act according to their knowledge, not the player's.
My table is not the place for...
My table is not a place for disruptive behavior, players who want to dominate the spotlight, or actions that make other players uncomfortable.
