About Spencer
Hi! My name is Spencer, I have been running D&D one shots and campaigns since 2023, I enjoy running both pre-written campaigns and stories, as well as writing some of my own. My tables are inclusive, encourage creativity, and try to immerse you in the action through interactive maps and soundscapes. All levels of experience are welcome at my table, whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a first-time player! Like a lot of GM's - I enjoyed playing the game once, and wanted to play more and no one else wanted to be the GM. But also I just enjoy the role that a GM plays at the table helping to guide the group through our story.

How Spencer runs games
My games tend to lean toward roleplay but also include potential for combat. I would say on average you can expect about 50-60% roleplay and 25-35% combat, 15-25% puzzles. I enjoy creating environment using soundscapes (Syrinscape) and descriptive narration. I also love to navigate the story toward the impulses players and their characters have.

I prep by
I plan a lot of the skeleton of what we might encounter in the session, visual aids, maps and all the fun goodies that come along with an exciting game - but my favorite part of the prep that I do is playing around with soundscapes. I love finding different mixes of sounds to help set the scene.
My games focus on...
Immersion in the world of the game. I do this by encouraging roleplay, and providing immersion medias in the form of interactive battle maps, Soundscapes, and Imagery of NPC's and Locations for players to feel like they are part of the story that we are creating together.
Rules are...
Rules are just the guardrails for us to have fun. Rules are not always set in stone - the rule of cool anlways applies.
Spencer's ideal table
I love a mixed table of new players and those experienced with the game, but both eager to learn and explore. I enjoy creating a story together. As your GM I lots of landmarks we can hit, but the story in between is for us to tell together.

I love it when a player
I love it when players surprise me with their approaches to challenges. Whether it be weaseling their way out of a predicament with a clever distraction, or an inventive use of an ability in battle to thwart the big baddie. I am always delighted when players use fun and inventive strategies.
