About Cristian Giovany
I’m a full-time GM with a tactical brain and a storyteller’s instinct. I run clean, well-prepped games built on strong systems, clear stakes, and just enough improvisation to let things go gloriously off the rails. I put players into situations they’ll absolutely survive. Probably.... Expect smart challenges, responsive worlds, and momentum-forward sessions where your choices matter and the game doesn’t stall. I plan thoroughly so I can break the plan on purpose. PS: I am unapologetically committed to terrible accents, delivered with maximum confidence and zero shame.

My favorite books are
Infinite jest by the late David Foster Wallace! It's a great story and gives a raw look in the mirror about entertainment in our society.
My favorite system of all Time is
Shadow Dark! It is incredibly accessible and simple to port into any setting. Other than that I do like 5e 2024, and Warhammer 40k
When I'm not running games I'm...
Coaching professionals, Playing guitar, Chess, painting Warhammer Minis, playing with my 2 kids, learning a new language, reading modules for D&D, learning deeper Philosophy. Ultimately growing as a person every day. My day Job is a Licensed and professional Realtor with Bridge realty in Minnesota.
How Cristian Giovany runs games
Professional GM. Tactical combat. Story-first execution. 🎲 I run immersive 5E games built around smart combat, meaningful choices, and player-driven momentum. Every session is designed to pressure your decisions, reward creative thinking, and keep the game moving. New players get going quickly. Veterans get depth. No left behind. 🎲 Expect dangerous encounters that demand thought, worlds that respond to your actions, and stories that pull your character directly into the spine of the campaign. Role-play matters. Exploration matters. The dice are fair... but sometimes brutal. 🎲 I’m rules-light when it keeps momentum high, strict when stakes demand it. 🎲 Accents may drift. NPCs will be emotionally unstable. That part is intentional.

I prep by
Creating the world, then taking the character's background into consideration for what might be acting forces that they would be inclined to play against or for helping!.
Rules are...
great place to start when brand new, but it shouldn't hamper the enjoyment of the game. The only real rule is the GM has the final say for refereeing each game. It's best to be BOLD, be QUICK, be GONE! Waiting for a ruling in the moment can be boring but I do address any rulings post game review.
When it comes to voices
I make a solid attempt but will often narrate what the NPC is trying to convey.
Cristian Giovany's ideal table
Thinking players that enjoy role playing, exploration and combat. I come from a wargaming background and find quick and effective combat to be the most engaging. From Hex-crawl adventures to infiltrating the BBEG's keep there are many chances for creativity in my games and it is often rewarded with boons.

tactical and quick play
I love it when a player
tries to social encounter their way out of an encounter before choosing violence. It shows creative thinking and player agency to maybe help understand their foes before providing fatal judgment.
I think min/maxing...
a staple of modern gaming, trying to give yourself the best chance for achieving your goals! I love it.
