About Lou

I have played and designed board games for many years but never had a group of people to play DnD with. In fact I did not know much about it until a friend invited me over for a one session one shot 4 years ago. Though it was a very simple one shot I was hooked. He did not have time to craft a campaign but would play in one if I wanted to try running it. That week I started crafting my world Penrosia. Since then I have run a total of 6 long and short term campaigns with four or more players in both DnD 5e and Pathfinder 1e. 3 of which have run for more than a year on a weekly basis.

How Lou runs games

Penrosia is a high-fantasy world of hidden truths, crumbling gods, and rising rebellion. On the surface, towering giants rule a gleaming civilization, ancient religions feel unquestionable, and legends like dragons are dismissed as childish myths. Beneath that polished façade, history has been rewritten, forbidden powers stir, and the world teeters on the edge of a new ascension. Players will explore marble cities built on exploitation, forbidden valleys scarred by ancient catastrophes, and planes beyond the Material where secrets have been carefully buried. Faith is a weapon, divinity is political, and every choice risks shifting the balance of power between mortals, giants, and forgotten gods. Penrosia is a character-driven setting filled with moral ambiguity, epic revelations, and long-term consequences—perfect for adventurers who want mystery, intrigue, and world-altering decisions alongside classic heroic fantasy. I enjoy a heavy focus on intricate maps, tactical battles, player choice on direction but with a clear indication of what next steps would be on a chosen path. Pacing is very important to me. Making sure everyone gets what they want from the game and keeping things flowing along. In my games death is a definite threat but in my world, afterlives are just as rich of a realm as the material plane players would start in. I run multiple intersecting campaigns at once and therefore I use a mix of official and homebrewed content to make my world "Penrosia" feel catered and cohesive.

Lou's ideal table

Players looking for challenging and detailed sessions with heavy focus on player agency and planning for next steps. Lots of magic items, tons of lore, and an interconnected world of events that are affected by you and other parties playing within the world in other campaigns I run.

My table is not the place for...

Poor communication. We are all here to have fun with new friends as a team. You don't have to play a character that is always agreeable but you do need to share your desires for your character to your teammates.
