About Freydis

I’ve been immersed in the world of Dungeons & Dragons and other TTRPGs since I was 10, growing up with family reunions that would often culminate in epic D&D sessions, the sound of clattering dice mixing with laughter and cheesecake. For years, I enjoyed being a player, but when I wanted to dive back into the game, I found myself without a Dungeon Master. So, I embarked on the journey of becoming one myself, not knowing that it would become a passion I deeply cherish. I have now been a Dungeon Master for around 5-6 years, running three campaigns that have enriched my love for storytelling, character development, and the thrilling twists that bring stories to life. While I may not be Matt Mercer or wield a voice actor’s arsenal of accents, my goal is to create a fun, engaging, and unforgettable experience for every player at my table. I invite you to join me at my virtual table, where adventure awaits and fun is guaranteed. Let’s roll some dice and create a story worth telling!

How Freydis runs games

I love roleplay and always encourage my players to dive into character-driven interactions, as long as it’s relevant to the story and keeps things moving forward. While I’m not a voice actor, I take pride in creating compelling NPCs with unique personalities. For certain characters, like kids or male NPCs, I’ll adjust my voice slightly to match their vibe. That said, accents are my Achilles' heel—I start with a British tone and somehow end up in Brooklyn halfway through! Rather than distracting from the narrative, I focus on storytelling that is immersive and engaging. My GM style leans towards guided storytelling rather than an open-world approach. I craft a world where your choices truly matter, and actions have consequences, both positive and negative. I take pride in adapting each session based on how your decisions have influenced the world, making the story feel alive and reactive to your gameplay.

I deal with rules issues by...

If the table knows the rule and i have forgotten or overlooked something i generally will agree with the table and look it up later. If only one person knows it i will make a decision in the moment and then look it up later and post it to the group so we can all be on the same page.

I prep by

Spending entirely way to much time prepping mostly.

Rules are...

Rules are great, but if they hold back a fun and entertaining moment for the table, they should be mostly if not completely, ignored. However this is the exception not the rule. :)

Freydis's ideal table

Be open to new experiences, to new people of other walks of life. Don't be a stickler for the rules being perfect. Sometimes i forget about concentration on a spell. I tell a story and your decisions have consequences good or bad I tell guided stories, but i do keep your choices in mind when it comes to planning out next sessions.

I love it when a player

gets into their character. Dress up if you want, do voices, do play into the insecurities of your character. Doesnt matter if you know its a trap in the real world, does (character) know or think that same way>?
