About Andrew Ensign

Hi, I'm Andrew! When I'm not GMing, I'm a language and martial arts instructor. I'm nonbinary, I love cats, and I dream of one day designing and building automated greenhouses. I love all sorts of games, but I absolutely love the freedom and creativity that springs from tabletop roleplaying games. I have been playing for over 20 years, starting with 2nd edition D&D, and I started GMing about 9 years ago with Starfinder. I have run Starfinder, Star Wars FFG, Numenera, and Star Trek Adventures. My favorite adventure I've run so far is Starfinder Mechageddon!, an epic game about a squad of mech pilots on a world overrun by giant monsters called colossi.

How Andrew Ensign runs games

First and foremost: I am a trans person and I run an inclusive space for all marginalized people. This is non-negotiable. As a GM, I believe that the rules are there to define the shape and mechanics of the world we are playing in, but the story is always more important. I love the story that is built from the choices people make with their characters, what that means about who their characters are, and how they interact with the other characters and their choices. I also strive to make my games inclusive and safe, consent-based spaces where people can explore collaborative fantasies together.
