About Eratheon
Hello! I'm Josh! I'm relatively new to the TTRPG space, but I've found a passion for running games. I've learned that TTRPGs are a place where you can interact with like-minded and collaborative people in the fantasy world of our creation. The friends and experiences forged along the journey are truly special. Hopefully, I'll run a game and get to know you! Even though I've only been playing and running Dungeons & Dragons for over 2 years, I'm currently running several games for different groups of friends. I have a few newer games running whenever friends are available, but I've run over 200+ sessions in the last two years and learned a lot. I've also run lots of Daggerheart and now learning about the Starfinder 2e/Pathfinder 2e world! On top of that, I've also played in a few campaigns, namely Call of the Netherdeep (twice), and I've finished a Critical Role Sandbox campaign. There, I learned what players value the most, and I strive to add it to my home games whenever possible. I'm a big fan of Critical Role and D20, but I don't usually have time to watch everything.

I became a GM because
I wanted to help curate a space where people had fun and make amazing creative decisions. Every session, my players always surprise me with their jokes, quick wit and creative juices.
I got started GMing...
After watching 20 episodes of Critical Role Campaign 2! I really wanted to start playing D&D, and did not have any friends in active games. So I decided to be the one to run it!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Heavily preparing for said games! Hahahaha! In all seriousness though, I like to make sure I have a plan for each session so that it is meaningful and that the story progresses.
How Eratheon runs games
My favourite part about GMing is incorporating varied, lifelike NPCs into my world and giving them voices. Making others laugh at the character or even love/hate them so much tells me that I've done something good. I genuinely believe that TTRPGs are a method of collaborative storytelling. I like to spotlight roleplaying between PCs because most of the magic in a game comes from you and your party! In addition, I thoroughly enjoy incorporating players' backstories into the game and world. I can sometimes spend too much time ensuring that everyone has something to show off and interact with. I like to make the players shine and feel proud of their ideas! Finally, while these are traits of my style, I am very open-minded. I don't mind discussing how things are going in the game or even changing/implementing new things!

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
the Russo Brothers! There are always ties to backstories and side quests that flesh them out and I make backstories be tied to the campaign's main story as much as I can!
My games focus on...
progressing the story, making sure everyone has fun and has their spotlight, and of course, epic and dramatic adventures!
When it comes to voices
I love learning new accents and coming up with voices for each of my NPCs. I'm always trying to circumvent the obvious and make sure to leave my players surprised and attached to the NPCs in my world.
Eratheon's ideal table
My table is one where we can discuss the game, give feedback while learning and growing together. I'd say players that fit well at my table are those that like to ask questions and are open to trying different things.

Roleplaying your character and being immersed into a fantasy world,
I love it when a player
helps spotlight other players so they have their moment to shine as well.
