Hi, my name is Edward. I'm a computer science graduate student, and have been running RPG campaigns for almost 10 years now. My primary systems are Pathfinder 1st edition and D&D 5e, but I have experience running several other systems including Cyberpunk 2020, Dread, 10 Candles, and several others. I primarily run from a living world setting titled 'The Pearl Throne,' which has had 5 completed campaigns run in it and over 20 players involved throughout its lifespan. Playing a game in a living world setting means your actions have real consequences. Your parties actions and decisions will effect players in the future, and previous campaigns have directly shaped the world you will be playing in. Occasional "guest stars" may also feature in sessions, where a character from a previous campaign will briefly join in to act as an NPC. 'The Pearl Throne' features a rich and complex world history spanning through thousands of years of history, a complex web of political aliances among major factions, and a hard magic system allowing for the in game creation of custom magic items (this does not alter spellcasting mechanics).

GM Style

As a DM, I focus on catering each individual campaign to the players and their characters. Expect PC backstories to be woven into the core of the narative, and for player interest to drive the narratives direction. I will also frequently create a customized set of rules tweaks to allow a campaigns themes to play out through the mechanics. Players may choose their prefered theming, difficulty, and 'vibe' for the campaign during session zero. While I am happy to run anything players find enjoyable, I find that my skills in running come primarily in the form of: grounded politics and factions, realistic NPC's with motivations and character arcs, tactical combat with real stakes, custom enemy and boss design, and morally complex questlines. I strongly believe in creating an inclusive environment both in the game world and at the table. I welcome any and all critique of world or game elements that may accidently play into negative steriotyping and I will work to immediately adress such issues if one should arrise. I have 0 tolerance for bullying at the table.
