About Dorkseid
Darkness. The darkness of the inside of your eyelids weighs heavy on your thoughts as you open your eyes to discover you are trapped in a web. A world wide web. You feel the tug of the sticky substance as you try to wrangle an arm or leg free. To find some sort of purchase. You smell the sickly sweet decay of adventurers who had come before you in search of the fabled "Perfect GM." And then you feel it. The skittering of the beast that made this web. It descends with eight limbs and zero prep time. Its many eyes blink behind fogged-up glasses and a half-hearted smile that says, "Sorry, I forgot we were playing tonight." Its mandibles chatter endlessly, spewing lukewarm homebrew, recycled campaign plots, and inconsistent rules calls. You scream. Not from fear. But from disappointment. And then—he arrives. A flash of light! A d20 hits the ground and crits with divine comedic timing. The beast recoils, tangled in pun damage and well-structured narrative arcs. A silhouette steps through the smoke, cloak billowing like a DM’s screen in a dramatic gust of narrative wind. “Looking for the perfect Game Master?” He smirks. “You've just rolled initiative on the best decision of your campaign.” With a flick of the wrist, calendars sync, Discord sings, and your backstory gets a spotlight moment. Rules are explained with the precision of a rogue’s sneak attack, and NPCs speak in a symphony of accents. The story? So immersive, your snacks level up mid-session. Combat? Tense, tactical, and full of pun-chlines. Roleplay? Deeper than a gelatinous cube’s digestive tract. You’re not just playing a game anymore. You’re living a legend. So escape the web. Step into a world where fun is meta-magically guaranteed. Roll with me. I bring the schedule, the structure, and the story—so you can just bring the dice. Now taking bookings—no saving throw required.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Masks: A New Generation, Cypher System, and ugh I guess D&D but there are so many that I want to play so there's probably something out there I will like more than D&D
When I'm not running games I'm...
cooking, gardening, hanging with my husky! :)
How Dorkseid runs games
As a GM I am big on story! Particularly character driven story. I want the players to feel like their characters (and their choices) matter in the world. I also want my players to feel invested in the world so I prefer to take a collaborative approach when it comes to worldbuilding and describing scenes. I’m great with providing immersion through character voices. I would say my GM style is about 65% role play to 35% combat, with fluctuations here and there depending on what the story calls for.

My games focus on...
THE PLAYER CHARACTERS! First and foremost. It is their story, I'm just helping them tell it. So I really am a fan of my players. After that it's all about having fun and telling an interesting story.
Rules are...
A guideline and don't always necessarily work for every table.
Dorkseid's ideal table
My perfect table is one filled with collaborators. People who want to not only contribute, but lift their fellow players up. If you love worldbuilding, if you love telling a rich story, and yes if you love some truly zany moments, my table is for you. While I love telling an intense story as much as the next person, the vibe at my table tends to be pretty loose and fancy free. We try to keep it light and that way the serious moments are that much more impactful.

I think metagaming...
Inevitable, especially with experienced players. We all just do our best to parse what the player knows vs what the character knows. I'm absolutely guilty of saying "I know what this is but my character doesn't".
I think min/maxing...
can be fun for the right table. I love building crazy broken characters. But they don't always make for the best narrative characters. So make sure you bring them to the right table!
