About Vin
Hi, my name is Vin. I run both online and offline tables. Locally, I host a one-shot table at a game store for various adventures set in the Forgotten Realms, and more recently Eberron. Online, I host long-term campaigns for friends, coworkers and strangers alike. I am used to creating long narratives with big emotional or storytelling payoff and on the spot improv based on the dice roll. If you want to know more about me! Read further down below. I’ve been running D&D 5e for almost three years, but my first taste of the game was over 20 years ago. One hot summer, I sat with friends in an abandoned swimming pool role-playing heroes and villains without really knowing the rules. It ended with a giant boulder trap wiping us out, and for some reason we never played again. Years later my wife reintroduced me to D&D, and I fell back in love with the imagination and collaboration it sparks. Somewhere along the way I picked up the DM’s chair, and I haven’t looked back. Outside of the game, I’m into horror movies, sci-fi, anime, and fantasy of all kinds. My wife and I are working through Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive, though my all-time favorite series will always be Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time. One more thing: This table is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for everyone. I am a Filipino DM committed to diverse representation, and I explicitly welcome LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC, and neurodivergent players. Bigotry, racism, homophobia, and transphobia have no place at this table.

How Vin runs games
I balance RP and Combat, everything you do is meaningful! A failed attempt tells a great story as much as a success. Tell me your intentions, I will set the DC, and let the dice decide. I follow the DMG rules! However, I am not super crunchy about them. If something is fun and it makes sense for the given scenario, I say play on! The combat can range from challenging to downright impossible, but everything is solved with creative and tactical thinking. I played a lot of top down RPGs over the years, and I appreciate how games like Divinity, and more recently BG3 have done it. If there is something in the room, a chandelier, a broken chair, or a body of water, everything in the world is yours to use. Want to freeze a lock in place and shatter it? Possible! You want your Tasha's hideous laughter so potent that they roll around laughing while prone over a chasm? Absolutely frightening but YES! Lastly, every player has a story to tell. I believe in collaborative gameplay the most and pushing players to believe in their make believe is very important to me as a GM. See you Adventurer.

Vin's ideal table
For goblins, night owls, and anyone who wants to be part of their own bedtime story welcome to my table. My table feels like a late-night discord lobby or fireside chat; cozy, relaxed, and just a little surreal. This table is best for players who like roleplay and action in equal measure, who enjoy found-family vibes, and who want to tell stories that unfold in the quiet hours of the night. Rules matter, but creativity, fun and safety come first. I welcome players who are accepting and welcoming to new and veteran players alike. Ones who love a good laugh and relaxed atmosphere.
