About Father Torch
Good day! I am a homebrew-focused Dungeon Master who enjoys running games across multiple genres, including fantasy, horror, and even unconventional systems such as Pokémon-inspired campaigns. While I primarily run D&D 5e, my emphasis is always on immersive worlds shaped through improvisation, rich lore, and player-driven storytelling. I bring approximately three years of Dungeon Master experience, along with light voice acting to enhance NPCs and key moments. I especially enjoy roleplay-heavy groups—players who are willing to make bold choices, commit to their characters, and live with the consequences of those decisions. I encourage creativity at the table, whether that means clever problem-solving, memorable character moments, or simply bringing your funniest ideas to life. Above all, I believe shared laughter, collaboration, and meaningful character bonds are what allow a campaign to reach its full potential.

How Father Torch runs games
I am a roleplay-focused Game Master who prioritizes immersive storytelling and character-driven play. My goal is to bring characters and worlds to life, encouraging players to think creatively and approach challenges in whatever way feels true to their characters—then explore the consequences together. I place a strong emphasis on roleplay and character interaction, including the use of distinct NPC voices, and I actively encourage players to engage in roleplay and voice work at whatever level they are comfortable with. My games are primarily homebrew, supplemented with select assets from official sourcebooks. I am very open to creative and unconventional character concepts and builds, with a general preference for narrative-driven choices over heavy min-maxing. I strive to maintain a fair and inclusive table where every player has meaningful opportunities to act and contribute—no main character syndrome. Above all, the focus is on having fun and telling a great story together. For immersion, I use Pocket Bard via the Kenku app to provide dynamic music and ambience tailored to the location and tone of the scene. I am always open to feedback and value collaboration with my players to continually improve the experience for everyone at the table.

I prep by
Taking hours out of my day if its home brewed to create interesting lore and background. Also ensuring the map is of quality and things run properly upon game time!
My games focus on...
Bringing the scene to life through detail and using your imagination. The more put in the more imaginative the scene can become. I also love roleplay and voice acting different characters that bring a situation and scene to life.
When it comes to voices
I love to try new ones and bring my all. Whether its Golem from lord of the rings to Old man Wilkins from the Conjuring I try my best!
Father Torch's ideal table
My tables like a tavern full of Patrons, brining their drinks and snacks ready to embrace and bring their all into their characters. High roleplay and voice acting is encouraged. Talking amongst your party in situations always brings a better story together. I want to set the scene and mood through visuals and music as well as descriptive details to bring you into the story created.

I love it when a player
Embracers their character and roleplays as if they embodied this person. Comes up with fantastic solutions to problems and gives me good feedback to improve!
I think metagaming...
Should be kept to a minimum especially when someone has played the setting before. Its okay to speak out of context when necessary, but not al the time.
I think min/maxing...
Is an option however I prefer when players don't. I like a fun character even if its not maxed out. Brings more fun in the gameplay when things are not perfect for the player.
