About Dylan
Welcome! I was introduced to tabletop roleplaying in 2018 when Dimension 20 began its first season of Fantasy High. I was immediately excited to learn more about the game and find others interested in playing! My first experience playing was running a Skyrim themed 5e campaign for some friends from work that couldn't find a DM. Since then, I've played in multiple other games but mostly ran games for others. I look forward to bringing my skills as a DM to others here on StartPlaying!

I became a GM because
I enjoy creating a space for a group of people to tell an amazing story together. It's just a really unique experience each time I find a new group of people to play with.
I got started GMing...
I started GMing the first time I ever played after finding some people at work that wanted to play, but no one else wanted to run the game.
My favorite system of all Time is
Definitely 5e just due to it being the one I'm most familiar with. I want to branch out though and try others like Kids on Bikes or some of their variants.
How Dylan runs games
I host games for players who want to enjoy an immersive combat experience in TaleSpire (no additional cost to players for access) while also focusing on storytelling and roleplaying to give depth to the world we are building together. Creating my settings within TaleSpire allows my players to see their surroundings and immerse themselves in the ambiance immediately without waiting for my descriptions. This saves time during the session and helps keep players engaged and asking questions about the world, which can lead to further discovery. My sessions are beginner-friendly and a safe space for anyone wanting to enjoy a world of make-believe together. For newer players, I am more than happy to spend some extra time before sessions to go over any questions you have about playing 5e or TaleSpire.

My games focus on...
I focus mostly on trying to help the players drive the story forward based on whatever insights I've gotten into their players backstories or what we've done so far in the campaign.
When it comes to voices
I definitely do voices. How good are those voices? Like I said... I do voices.
