About DM Anthony

I’ve always been a storyteller. As a screenwriter, nerd, and voice actor, I live for the moments that make people lean forward in their seats. The twists that steal your breath, the choices that test your resolve, and the characters that feel like old friends (or enemies you’ll never forget). That’s the energy I bring behind the DM screen. I’ve been crafting worlds and running games for 5 years. From gritty Wild West tales of penitent outlaws to high-fantasy sagas where gods walk the earth. My players know me for pushing them beyond dice rolls into stories that feel cinematic, immersive, and deeply human. When I DM, I’m not just reading a module; I’m directing an experience. I’m not afraid of darkness in my worlds, but I balance it with humor, heart, and hope. I know when to let the table laugh until their sides hurt, and when to drop the kind of scene that leaves silence hanging in the air. My passion is making every session feel like a film you can step inside... where you are the hero, the villain, and everything in between. If you want a DM who will treat your character like the protagonist of a story worth telling, who will honor your choices, surprise you at every turn, and leave you with sessions you’ll remember long after the dice stop rolling, then I’d love to run a game for you!

I became a GM because

I wanted to play more! I was a player who got tired of inconsistent campaign scheduling. I found the easiest solution was to just run games myself! I also wanted to play prewritten campaigns that were personalized and tailored to my roleplay-heavy style, but I just couldn't find anything like that.

My favorite books are

1984, Animal Farm, The Great Gatsby, the illustrated man, and The War of Art.

How DM Anthony runs games

Stories should leave a mark. The kind that makes your heart race, your hands tremble over the dice, and your character question who they really are. That’s the table I run. I specialize in Dungeons & Dragons 5e and love weaving published adventures into larger, character-driven sagas. I stitch them into living worlds where NPCs breathe, villains plot, and consequences linger. Your backstory isn’t window dressing for interesting character roleplay. It’s ammunition for me to use. Roleplay and improv are my speciality. If you're a fan of Critical Role or Dimension 20, that's the sort of table style I try to aim for. What you’ll get at my table: - Roleplay-first cinematic storytelling with moral weight, hard choices, and moments that beg to be remembered. - Immersive roleplay and worlds that reward players who invest in their characters. - Tactical, dangerous combat with clever terrain, villainous schemes, and consequences that make every fight feel like you're tiptoeing around death's door. - A safe, welcoming table where every player gets a spotlight! I’m not a “rules robot,” but I respect the mechanics. I use them as a foundation to create thrilling, character-driven experiences where every roll of the dice matters.

I once ran a session...

Where in Dragon of Icespire Peak (a prewritten module) a dead player character was resurrected-- only to be inhabited by the evil god he secretly worshipped. He then became the main villain of the campaign, plotting to control the white Dragon and unleash his divine wrath upon the Sword Coast.

My favorite trope is...

Campfire scenes. After a long, hard day's worth of adventuring, traveling, and fighting-- nothing beats the party sitting around the fire, stars and moon above their head, shooting the shit with ale, food, and laughter. Secrets are unveiled, backstories are told, and fond memories are made.

My games focus on...

The player characters. Their dynamics with one another, their backstory, their development, and their relationship to the overall narrative.

DM Anthony's ideal table

My table leans pretty cinematic. I like stories that feel grounded and emotional, where choices matter, consequences hit hard, and characters actually grow from what happens. It’s not about constant combat or goofy chaos; it’s about moments that stick. I try to make the world feel alive and morally gray, where doing the “right” thing isn’t always easy or clear. Players who care about story and character over power fantasy will have a field day at my table. People who LOVE to roleplay, think through their decisions, and engage with the tone of the world. I love players who take the game seriously but can still have fun and laugh when it’s natural -- people who want to feel something at the table, not just roll dice. I think the vibe at my table is super well-rounded. There’s tension and consequence, but also camaraderie and humor that come out of real moments in and out of character. I want the table to feel like we’re telling a meaningful story together -- something between a great film and a lived-in adventure.

Rich roleplay, dangerous combat, meaningful group dynamics, and personalized, immersive worlds.

I love it when a player

Immerse themselves completely in the game with roleplay, backstory, and creativity while encouraging camaraderie with their fellow players in the game and above table.

My table is not the place for...

Power gamers, murder hobos, metagamers, uninvested roleplayers, or spotlight hogs. I run collaborative, story-first games where everybody is the main character and has an important voice!
