About Michael
I’ve been DMing Dungeons & Dragons for nearly five years, but the fascination started much earlier. When I was about ten, I discovered my dad’s old AD&D books tucked away in my nan’s loft. The artwork, the strange creatures, the promise of whole worlds inside a rulebook—it stuck with me. In 2021 I finally joined an online group and quickly found myself behind the screen as the Dungeon Master. Since then, creating adventures and watching players shape the story has become one of my favourite things to do. For me, D&D is collaborative storytelling at its best: I build the world, you decide what to do in it, and together we discover what happens next. I genuinely love having to rip up my notes mid session as everything goes.....different Outside the game I work helping people find employment and new opportunities and a history in Learning and Development, with global awards a testament to my ability of fostering inclusive environments. At my table you can expect: • A welcoming and inclusive table where new and experienced players alike can enjoy the game • Player-driven storytelling where your choices genuinely shape the world • Immersive worldbuilding filled with memorable NPCs, mysteries, and consequences • A balance of roleplay, exploration, and combat depending on what the group enjoys most Away from the screen I’m a happily married father to one human child and three very demanding furry ones. Fantasy has always been a huge part of my life, from books and films to music and, of course, D&D. There’s something magical about stepping into another world for a few hours and telling a story together. If you’re looking for a game where your character matters, your choices have weight, and the goal is simply to have a great adventure together, you’ll fit right in.

I got started GMing...
because I was the only one in my original group who had any idea about DnD. I was elected the DM by unanimous decision and since I have fell in love with building scenes and settings that allow for creative freedom. Even modules can be reworked to allow for creative room.
People are always surprised when I tell them
I include some real world scenarios into my homebrew worlds and allow my players the chance to influence the outcomes
How Michael runs games
I’m a roleplay-first DM. I love seeing players fully invest in their character, whether that’s in tense social scenes, quiet character moments, or in the middle of combat when personalities really get stress-tested. Expect a world that reacts to who your character is and the choices you make. Player investment is the fuel of my games. If you bring me backstory hooks, personal goals, or wild theories, I will absolutely weave them into the world. I run collaborative tables where both player and character ideas matter, and I enjoy working with the group to make cool concepts fit the setting in a way that feels grounded and satisfying. At the table, I treat the rules as tools, not shackles. I aim to keep the game flowing and will make fair rulings in the moment rather than grinding play to a halt to hunt for edge-case wording. That said, consistency and clarity matter. If a ruling needs revisiting between sessions, I’ll do the homework and adjust transparently. In practical terms, you can expect: Strong emphasis on character-driven storytelling Meaningful roleplay opportunities in and out of combat A responsive world that reflects player choices Room for creative problem-solving and outside-the-box thinking A table culture that values respect, spotlight-sharing, and group buy-in If you enjoy getting invested in your character, engaging with the world, and collaborating to tell a memorable story, you’ll likely feel at home at my table.
