About Dice Knights (Shane)
Greetings traveler... I'm Shane and perhaps I'll soon be whisking you away on a new adventure. I've been gaming since I was a wee lad of 10 years old; fast forward a few decades and I'm still as obsessed as ever. Although I started with the original Dungeons & Dragons, I have progressed through every edition since as well as a myriad of other systems. Burnt out on corporate life, I quit and moved to a tiny little town in rural New Zealand. Whilst soul searching on what to do with my life, I got back into running RPGs again and with some encouragement, decided to take the path less traveled and try and make a modest living doing so. I'm very easygoing and open-minded. I see roleplaying as an escape where we get to cast off our "real-world" burdens for a few hours of adventure, excitement, and laughter. So I propose you take up your sword, prepare your spells, and join me on an adventure.

How Dice Knights (Shane) runs games
I love to tinker and add in all those bells and whistles to take full advantage of the online medium. Adding ambient music and sound effects, sprawling battle maps, and evocative backdrops for theater of the mind play. I love to work with players to weave their characters into the story even when running pre-written adventures, swapping out npcs for those more personal to the characters, creating new encounters and unique items, etc.

...listening to the player's suggestion, and if it is a quick fix, we roll with it; if we disagree or dealing with it will take too much time, I make a judgment call and add it to my to-do list to follow up with after the game.

... I have two of three; they all sound the same... they are all pretty bad. I do them anyway because it's all part of the fun.

I want a chill fun table. I want people with the enthusiasm of a child but with the sense of an adult. We're here to have fun but not at the expense of others. People who love seeing other characters shine and succeed as much as their own, people who want to be part of a team and understand that there are real people behind those characters.
