About David The Daring
Hello! I have been a GM for the past 8 years exclusively with IRL tables, and am now ready to jump in and GM some tables online! The systems I mainly run are D&D, Daggerheart, Call of Cthulhu, Star Wars, and I am open to learning any system and playing a few sessions or a campaign! I love reading and telling stories, be it whatever setting or tone, and what better way than to play the story out and get immersed in the worlds we will create together.

My favorite books are
Stormlight Archive, House of the Scorpion, Lord of The Rings, anything Batman
When I'm not running games I'm...
Thinking of ideas and writing them down in my phone's notes whenever I'm planning for the next sessions.
How David The Daring runs games
My style of GM’ing is to always prioritize the story, to make it not just fun and memorable, but also captivating and immersive, making sure each player character feels like they are making an impact in the World/Setting with their choices. It’s also fun to shake things up and make my table go through it; put them through challenges both personal and global with low and high stakes situations. Sprinkled with all kinds of moments of humor, fear, action or disaster, the stories and worlds I would introduce you to, will hopefully leave you with a long-lasting impression and a desire to keep coming back for more stories. After all, that is what these games were made for.

I prep by
Overprepping, but improv often comes up more than prep, and I am always ready to improvise whatever path comes up during gameplay.
Rules are...
A good foundation to work on and must be respected to a degree, except when something is suggested that significantly adds to the story and goes against the rules, a.k.a. Rule of Cool
When it comes to voices
I always try to act out different voices for NPCs, villains, etc, to help characterize them and bring out their personality for the players.
David The Daring's ideal table
People who are open to small-scale and large-scale stories and conflicts, serious drama, epic action, and ridiculous humor at times.

I love it when a player
Becomes immersed in their character, and they start to feel the weight of their character's decisions/actions. They bring more of an impact to the overall campaign/story.
I think metagaming...
Should be avoided. Story always comes first. If a character is set to walk a path where they could be potentially doomed, the story might provide ways for that character to continue on that path but maybe come out of it alive.
I think min/maxing...
Is fine, as long as metagaming is not involved.
