I became a GM because

I couldn't find a table to play at so I started my own, it's caused some insanity in my life/schedule, but it's been crazy fun And I regret Nothing

My favorite system of all Time is

D&D 5E is my Favorite but I've recently taken a liking to Cyberpunk RED, Me and my friends have found it to be a Bunch of fun

When I'm not running games I'm...

Either prepping materials for whatever game is next, Reading more material books, catch up on Dimension 20, or playing some video games.

How DarkSamuraiV runs games

-I will prioritize what is fun for the group as a whole over fulfilling individual indulgence, for example if the whole group is going off track and having fun Great BUT if everyone is bored out of their skull because 1 player is going out of his way to be unreasonable and waste everyone else's time, THEN I'll have an issue. -More Than Anything, I LOVE when a player tries to do something interesting with an ability or spell that is beyond just what is written on the page. -I love roleplaying (Especially when a player(s) get into a scene) -I'm working on my character voices (getting better every game) -at the moment I play with 2d maps on owlbear and 3d on tale spire (if you don't have the application I'll stream through discord depending on the game.) -enjoy crunchy combats but will always try to balance it in a way for maximum fun/fairness at the table. (but I'm always open to criticism)

I deal with rules issues by...

My first idea is to check for clarification on the rule if not I'll use what feels right to the world logic or what feels fairest to the situation, a lot of the time coming down to a roll that the players can see with clear explanation on the effect.

I once ran a session...

where I separated one of the players form the group (even ran a 1 player session) the reason for this was (due to his backstory) one of the players was being manipulated by an unknown entity Including erasing pieces of his memories, which had him travel alone and the others had to track him down aft

When it comes to voices

If it's an especially interesting or important character (or someone I find funny) I'll likely give them a unique voice and/or accent. But on average I'll keep things in my normal voice with just a change in register depending on the character.

DarkSamuraiV's ideal table

My ideal table has a group (4-6 players) that are comfortable with each other and engage each other as characters, building bonds and exploring the setting while discovering secrets to the happenstance as well as about each other. I prefer players to be able to talk in character (if you need time to get comfortable that is absolutely OK. My main ask for players mechanically is for them to understand How THEIR character works, if your unfamiliar or fuzzy with some rules, then just ask that's what i'm here for. If i or another player makes a mistake, it's ok to correct just be polite about it and understand some DMs will change a stat block or make a call that isn't exactly to the rules and that is fine.

I think it's a red flag when players...

are creating pages of backstory without consulting the dm, when they are hogging all the cool moments or spotlight, and if they refuse to give at some points of narrative to make the backstories and the world lore fit.

I think metagaming...

it's not a crazy big deal on the small scale, but like having full strategy talks in the middle of combat isn't like okay. like I prefer to have people roll death saves to themselves and dm me the result so the other characters act accordingly without going like "oh he has no fails so it's fine RN"

I think min/maxing...

is fine and all but a character is best done in a story when they have flaws and weaknesses, I just ask that you pay attention to the whole group and the campaign we're going into, because if it's a game of heavy roleplay and you make a powerhouse then that might be a little difficult to play.
