About Crit
Hello, I'm Crit, thank you for checking my page. I'll start by saying I have always been into RPG videogames and choose your own adventure style books. I run game sessions at a local game shop, lots of my in-person players come from far so I figured to give online game mastering a chance. Although I have experience running games, virtual table top gaming is new to me. I plan on posting my session as one shots or adventure-of-the-day style so anyone can join solo. I can run campaigns if you have a group ready and just need a GM.

I started running games because...
I enjoyed how fullfilling it can be. It has combat for those who like being tactical and competitive, it has exploration for those who like mystery and discovery, roleplaying for those who like acting and improv. There is a bit for everyone.
My favorite shows/movies are
Shows: Adventure Time Game of Thrones Knight of the 7 Kingdoms Attack on titan It's always sunny in Philadelphia Movies: Interstellar Lord of the Rings (trilogy) Polar Inception Hereditary Django Pulp Fiction Hateful 8
When I'm not running games I'm...
trying to catch up with the backlog I have of miniatures that need painting, video games, and ttrpg books that add to my GM toolkit.
How Crit runs games
What you can expect from my games: I try my best to stick to the true core of the game combat, roleplaying, & exploration. I provide the players with scenes with those 3 pillars in mind in order to create challenges to overcome. I will mainly run official content from dungeons and dragons with a bit of my own twist and homebrew for enhanced gameplay.

My games focus on...
Giving every person at the table the opportunity to have fun and playing as a team. Not hogging the spotlight.
Rules are...
A great to keep the game fair and balance for everyone but I don't concider them law. As GM, I don't mind bending them a bit to keep the game going and fun.
When it comes to voices
I don't do voices or accent. I don't expect or ask for my players to have to either. It's okay for a player to not get in full character if they are not comfortable. I do try to make it a safe space for whoever does or tries.
Crit's ideal table
In my ideal table everyone has fun and will walk away with memorable times. Here's some rules I use that might help for a more enjoyable time. Core Gameplay Mechanics: 1. The Golden Rule (Rule 0): The Game Master (GM) is the final arbiter of all rules and should exercise this authority with restraint to maintain immersion. 2. Action and Resolution: Players describe their characters' actions, which succeed or fail based on a game system. 3. System Styles: Dungeons and Dragons 5.5e(2024) core rules. https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024 4. Improvisation: While rules provide structure, players have the freedom to improvise within those bounds, and their choices directly shape the story’s direction. Essential Table Etiquette: 1. Share the Spotlight: Your character is not the protagonist; actively create opportunities for other players to shine and avoid monopolizing the narrative. 2. Set Boundaries: If there are specific topics you as a player don't feel comfortable with feel free to let me know so they don't come up. Make it a safe zone for others and respect the boundaries. 3. Be Present and Punctual: Respect the groups time, be on time and try your best to pay attention when it is someone else turn to speak. 4. Avoid Meta-Gaming: Do not use knowledge your character wouldn’t possess to influence decisions and avoid the "it's what my character would do" excuse to justify disruptive behavior. 5. Communicate Intentions: Clearly state your goals and intentions to the GM to help them facilitate the narrative effectively.

I love it when a player
I love when a new player tries something out of their comfort zone that they wanted to try for some time. I love when a vet player uses their full creativity to overcome an obstacle and its patient and helpful with the rest of the table.
I think min/maxing...
It's acceptable. The dice rolls will always be the ultimate judge.
My table is not the place for...
anyone that likes interupting and talking over others. Is not for those who like spoiling what's coming ahead just because they may have played that game before.
