About DM Aris
Hi, I’m Aris! My journey with Dungeons & Dragons began years ago in my youth, rolling dice around the cafeteria tables after school, and discovering the magic of cooperative storytelling. Life took me on various adventures, but I recently rediscovered the joy of the game (better late than never!) —both as a player and from behind the Dungeon Master’s screen. Stepping back into the world of D&D reminded me just how special this hobby is, and it sparked a passion to share that magic with others. In my daily life, I am an educator, and that background naturally carries over to my role as a DM. I love breaking down ideas and creating an encouraging environment where people feel comfortable trying new things. If you are brand new to the hobby, I can patiently teach the ropes of D&D 5e/5.5e —no stress, no judgment, just fun! Based in the DFW area, I want to create a welcoming, low-stress, rewarding, and deeply relaxing sanctuary from the busy work week. Whether you are a total beginner looking for a patient guide, a returning player (like me!), or someone who just wants to sit back and roll some dice, you have a seat at my table. Let's create some unforgettable stories together!

I started running games because...
Tabletop games bring people together and spark imagination. As an educator, I love creating collaborative, low-stress spaces where players feel supported, explore creative ideas, and get to be the heroes of their own stories after a long day.
People are always surprised when I tell them
...That I can play several different instruments. Music has always been a big creative passion of mine—just like running games, it’s all about rhythm, collaboration, and finding the right groove!
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Engaging, Adaptive, Fun!
How DM Aris runs games
At my table, you can expect a relaxed environment focused on fun, collaborative storytelling, and the "Rule of Cool." As an educator, I treat the rules as a framework for fun rather than a rigid cage, making combat exciting, accessible, and judgment-free for beginners and veterans alike. We’ll keep our technology streamlined and low-stress (D&D Beyond + Maps VTT /Google Meet). There is no complex virtual tabletop software to learn—all you need to do is jump in, bring your imagination, and get ready to roll some dice!

I deal with rules issues by...
Making a quick, fair call that favors the Rule of Cool and keeps the story moving! We focus on the fun at the table and can always look up the exact text later to clarify how we'll run it moving forward.
I prep by
I prep rich situations, not rigid scripts—just like engaging teaching. I outline key goals and encounters ahead of time, but I always stay flexible and let your choices steer the narrative.
My favorite trope is...
The wizard who sees every tactical challenge as a nail, and Fireball as the hammer. "I didn't ask how big the room is, I said I cast Fireball!" Pure, joyful arcane chaos.
DM Aris's ideal table
An encouraging, low-stress sanctuary focused on fun, creativity, and the Rule of Cool. Perfect for beginners wanting patient guidance and casual players who love teamwork and shared laughs. If you appreciate kindness and low-friction gaming, you’ll fit right in!
Featured Prompts
I love it when a player
I love it when a player uses clever, unexpected ideas to solve problems or vanquish foes, while also coming in ready to play, cheering on their teammates, and being mindful of everyone’s fun at the table.
My table is not the place for...
My table is not the place for rude, inconsiderate behavior, main-character energy, or gatekeeping. We thrive on mutual respect, patience, and collaborative fun. If you can’t respect the DM, support your fellow adventurers, or honor table boundaries, this isn’t the right fit.
