About Coley YeOldeGM
I’ve been playing D&D since the late 80s and GM-ing since the early 90s, and ever since, tabletop games have been my favorite way to spend time with people. D&D has been my go-to game for decades, but I’ve also played and run a bunch of other systems, including RuneQuest, Call of Cthulhu, Pathfinder, and Savage Worlds. And I love what each one brings to the table. Recently, I was introduced to Daggerheart, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite systems to run because it supports the kind of games I love, heroic stories with a sharp edge of horror, and lots of roleplay. My tables tend to be character-driven and NPC-rich, with big choices, strong worldbuilding, and fair, consistent rulings that help keep the game moving. I’m also very beginner-friendly and inclusive. I want players to feel welcome, supported, and excited to jump in, whether it’s their first session or their hundredth. At the end of the day, I see TTRPGs as a way to build a story together, and I hope I help to make it fun and memorable.

How Coley YeOldeGM runs games
Players can expect a mix of roleplay-forward storytelling, cinematic high-stakes combat, and a dash of exploration and discovery. With plenty of space for character choices to matter. My combat is mostly theater of the mind with maps and tokens used to set the stage when needed. I run games with rules as written, but I’m also a big believer in Rule of Cool, if something is awesome and fits the moment. My stories have guided beats and strong plot hooks, but if the table’s energy takes us off-road into a sandbox moment, I’m happy to follow it. Expect engaging NPCs that range from serious to quirky, and stories with twists and turns, and cinematic reveals. Along with a little mystery you can actually unravel as you go. I’m beginner-friendly, I’m happy to teach as we go, and I like doing a solid Session Zero for character creation and expectations. Most importantly, I aim for a respectful, inclusive table, and I use safety tools like Lines and Veils so everyone can relax and have a great time.
