About Codi
Hey hey! 👋 I’m a full-time higher ed worker who runs play-by-post games on the side because I just can’t get enough of collaborative storytelling. I mostly run D&D 5E, but I’m always down to try new systems or shake things up with different styles.📚 > As a queer BIPOC DM, building small, welcoming, and inclusive communities means a lot to me. Everyone deserves a space where they can feel seen and heard. > I try to keep things fair without getting bogged down by rules. Cool moments matter just as much as mechanics. Everyone gets their spotlight, and I’ll make sure the story flows in a way that keeps the game engaging and consistent. > Your fun matters most. I’m here to listen, adapt, and shape the game around what makes it exciting for you. > Got a weird homebrew system you want to try? Want to remix some mechanics? Let’s get creative and make something awesome together. > I love play-by-post because it fits busy lives but still lets us dive deep into immersive stories and character moments. I put a lot of care into each post so the world feels alive and worth exploring. > If that sounds like your vibe, feel free to reach out! Whether it's for a listed game or something totally off-menu, I’d love to hear from you.

My favorite books are
The Wheel of Time, 100%, have read and loved it my entire life and sending my partner on the adventure with me now! The first three Mistborn novels and Stormlight Archive. Kingkiller Chronicles (I still have hope for the third one!!!)
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
This is a living document. "Genuine answer, rule of cool" "Talented, Chaotic, Evil [Good]." "kills my player" "You mean character, right?" "no" Oh, I suggest "not an AI" or "creative insomniac." And many gif responses of various natures.
How Codi runs games
I’m a big believer in fairness when it comes to how I run my games. Everyone deserves a chance to shine, contribute to the story, and feel like a valued part of the party. I stick to the rules pretty consistently so there’s clarity and trust across the table, but I’m also not afraid to loosen up when it makes things more fun. While I respect the rules, I’m definitely not married to them. If you’ve got a wild idea or a cool move that bends things a bit but adds to the excitement? I’m all for it. These games are about creativity, collaboration, and telling awesome stories together. The "rule of cool" is alive and well in my sessions. If you bring something fun, clever, or cinematic to the table, I’ll usually say yes and find a way to make it work. If something mechanical ever feels off or starts to get in the way, I’m always open to a conversation. We can talk it out, find what feels fair, and keep the good vibes going. It’s all about making sure everyone’s enjoying themselves. At the end of the day, I want my games to feel like a chill night with friends. You can expect dumb jokes, gifs, character-driven chaos, and the occasional ridiculous scheme. I also make a point to say good morning or good afternoon when I can, because even if we’re spread across time zones, I still want that personal, friendly energy to shine through.

My games focus on...
Maximizing player agency, especially in terms of having control of their character, their actions and the direction their story unfolds. Creativity and exploration are just as rewarded as following the mainline objectives.
Codi's ideal table
My table style is rather versatile, but I tend to favor friendly interactions and intent to collaborate more than anything. I prefer to give the home-game vibes, and build relationships with my players. But, always keeping professionalism in mind and maintaining the product's quality. If you like to chat, and enjoy winding twisting games filled with collaborative narratives. My table is perfect for you.

I love it when a player
Puts a spin on a narrative thread I've left. I am always super impressed by the things my players write in response to something that I may have viewed as trivial or nonsensical. So many fun things have sprouted from a player remembering a part of the story that I had slightly forgotten.
I think min/maxing...
is cool, but as a GM not overly focused on combat, may feel a bit wasted at times. Though, if you like that power fantasy, you will definitely enjoy min/maxing at my table.
