About Bedlymn
I've been playing D&D for a few decades on and off. I started when I was just six years old as I looked over the shoulder of some teenagers that I carpooled to school with. The BECMI books were such an intrigue to me even at that age (heck, I couldn't even read some of the words). Of course, my play developed from there and I became a forever DM. I've dabbled in some other genres (Vampire: The Masquerade, Aberrant, & Pathfinder mainly), but D&D has always been my go-to. I was strictly tabletop for most of my life and had a break from gaming for several years. About five years ago, I returned via Discord and PBP gaming because it fit best with my life schedule. Outside of gaming, I am a husband, father and Director of Nursing at a long-term care facility. I'm an amateur musician and lead worship at my church.

I ran my first game...
When I was only seven years old. It was completely on my own with friends who also didn't know what they were doing, but we had a blast. For some of us, it lasted a lifetime.
When I'm not running games I'm...
I enjoy creating content for games (some of which will likely never see the light of day). I like to build worlds, statblocks, systems and rules...oh, and don't forget the spreadsheets. I'm also an amateur musician and I'm the Director of Nursing for a Long Term Care Facility.
How Bedlymn runs games
I enjoy all aspects of the game! I lean toward heavier roleplay, character development and world building. I don't think you can have all of that without combat though (and why else do our characters get all those neat abilities anyway?) I like to make combat interesting and include roleplay within it when we can. I use terrain and story to move combat along; and I like for battle to mean something within a campaign. I'm not big on "power-gaming" or "min-maxing" but at the same time I don't mind players who do enjoy that style of play. Just be ready for your opponents to have power-gamed themselves.

Rules are...
There for good reason, but meant to be bent or broken at the DM's discretion! I love for players to try to get outside of the rules, but sometimes we have to come back to them too.
