Hey there, I've DM's for over 20 years in various systems but mostly D&D and World of Darkness. I include your character's backstories and ideas for them in each game we play together. I use the improv rule of yes, and no but better. My games tend to be more sandbox choice driven. There are quests lines and story points for characters to explore in each scene, at least once. I have the rule of sure. We can try it anything you can think of, using your abilities or skill checks, burning a comparable spell, etc. I also have a couple Alerts for the live games. Yellow Alert, is for if anything gets intense for ya. We take a break and come back to understand what we need to do to move forward; recon the last scene, come up with a better idea, etc. Blue Alert, a quick way to announce your stepping away with out having to give details or interrupt play. All my game have their own Discord Channel with Private Character Journals, resources/support for character creation and RP Chat, for catching up on the excitement and fun of the game between sessions, and adding to the adventure! How Verve runs games
I like to run a game that allows you to explore and role play the scenes. Interaction of the players in the scenes is where I like to give out secrets, foreshadow the story, or have quick fun moments. All play styles are welcome at my table. I allow players to choose the species and classes they want, with in my personal library or their own. I take time to know about your backstory so I can evolve it within the story of the campaign, or session. I am open to discuss and learn what you are looking for in a game and will try to cater that within the time we have together. Between sessions, I also have a Rp Chat channel on discord. I update it as time permits, usually within 24-48 hours. It is there for us to catch up on rest actions, explore new scenes, or just hang by the fire while traveling between towns. Events in the Rp Chat do have barring on the game at the session. But the Rp Chat is not a requirement for play. There are updates that will be posted before the Live Session. Rules are there give us a healthy guideline of what a character can do during their time at the table. If you choose to try something at the table that is not marked on your character sheet, we will try it with what abilities, spells, feats, etc that you do have. I'm always open to help you build your character, or assist in answering other game related questions. I have a server I have built and like to assist when I can. At my table you can expect an fast paced inclusive experience.
