About Alia
I have been playing D&D for over fifteen years, twelve of which I've been DMing. I have two cats, and too much time on my hands now that I am a veteran. My games include discord for voice chat as well as texting, Owlbear as our virtual table top, and D&D beyond for character sheets. Sessions are usually 3 hours long, but I can make it shorter or longer depending on avaliability. Most of my games are hand built, all of them follow either 2014 5e or 2024 5.5e. I do have 3.5e and 4e adventures available as well, but don't offer those without special request as they're old and admittedly my knowledge on the older systems is rusty.

When I'm not running games I'm...
Most likely editing videos or recording for a youtube project I'm a part of. I spend my time developing games and compiling 'books' that I use to run my sessions via the Homebrewery and a very beloved printer. I also spend a great deal of time doodling or writing.
How Alia runs games
I specialize in roleplay and character interactions. It's what I enjoy in most of my games. I enjoy crafting NPCs with personalities, desires, and dislikes. I enjoy building hidden quests, and special items that tie into NPC's positive or negative interactions. This gives the game more worth and life in my opinion. I have two different world types: Questline and Open World. My open world games allow exploration and natural world interactions, this allows you to follow questlines as you see fit and explore the the world and it's NPCs. However, as a rule of thumb I run Open Worlds only for my experienced players, as there is less guidance. The story depends on players interacting with the world, it is what you make it. You must seek out the quests, the quests won't simply find you. My Questline based worlds allow the players to following a story. There won't be railroading (because admittedly I'm not good at it), but there will be defined objectives and the story is as much based on player interaction as it is the preset flow. Questline worlds have a story to be fulfilled. My combats are balanced, and my puzzles are nonexistent unless asked. I've found my player base tends to hate the puzzles, so I try to avoid incorperating them unless players specifically ask for puzzles to be intergrated in my work. Session Zero will ALWAYS be character building, how to navigate the discord, how to use Owlbear to gain audio, and our Table Rules.

Rules are...
Generally decided by the table as a whole, however I do have a few I bring with me into every game. 1. Cheating is not allowed (I mean, that goes without saying right?) 2. Meta-Gaming is not allowed 3. Seperate game from reality 4. FAFO (We love consequences over here >:} ) 5. Respect Roleplay
Alia's ideal table
My DMing style lingers between serious and ha-ha funny. That is to say, my table best fits players that build themselves into the world with me. Players that engage the story with stakes, and characters that have real motives will thrive. Actions have consequences, some of those consequences are hilarious, some of them are disappointing. I like to build ties into the player's characters so those impacts, those moments, hold meaning.

I am for a vibe that's...
Relaxed and more realistic in the sense I expect characters to have feelings, to have growth and have their own arcs. The world may be falling apart, but at the end of the day, the pressure of putting it back together by yourself should be quite the trial.
