About Cam
Hello! My name is Cam. I've been a DM since 2024, but have been playing longer than that. I've ran games for Dungeons & Dragons (both 5e and 5.5e) and Fallout The Roleplaying Game. I have been a player in Dungeons & Dragons (both editions), and also a player in Call of Cthulhu. I truly do love roleplaying. My initial taste for it stimmed from my youth, being in theater, and playing as a wide cast of characters. Since then, I've picked up TTRPGs as a way to get back to the magic that comes from the stories and moments that we can create together!

When I was young, I'd always wanted to play D&D, however, I didn't have time or friends that were interested in that stuff. However, I felt that it was up my alley, being a theater kid. Around 2019, for one of my birthdays, my friends bought me a set (Rick & Morty) and I've been playing since!
How Cam runs games
My GM style is 60/40 roleplay/combat. I personally love playing characters and putting on voices. When it comes to combat, I love to make challenging, but rewarding combat scenarios. Most of my campaigns will have serious moments, and can deal with mature themes, however, I do try to balance the seriousness with moments of silly and uplifting fun. I do not mind running fun and friendly-for-all-ages games. When it comes to rules, I am somewhat of a rules lawyer, because I do believe that the rules are a guide to keep the game consistent and balanced for everyone. With that being said, however, I have been known to occasionally bend the rules if it adds to a character's story or allows the game to run smoothly. I am someone who looks for fairness and equality for players, and I want my players to respect each other, both in and out of the game. My goal is to create a safe space for people to be themselves, and for everyone to have fun. In my games, I work to share the spotlight with all players, and give opportunities for players to give their character more growth, and chances to shine! For those who are a bit hesitant to speak up in a group setting, do not fret! I understand that feeling well, and will take time to encourage those to participate and speak. I also love playing D&D with new players, and teaching game mechanics and rules for newcomers.
