About Amon

I’m Amon (James) 40, lifelong TTRPG tragic, and usually the one running the show from behind the screen. I’m here for character-driven chaos, clutch rolls, and campaigns where choices have teeth. Expect story that reacts to you, action that feels cinematic, and a table that knows how to laugh without losing the tension.I’ve played and GMed across D&D (3.5 to 5e/2024), Pathfinder, Vampire: The Masquerade, Starfinder, Spelljammer, and more. If you like games that are immersive, purposeful, and built around the party, you’ll fit right in.

I became a GM because

I became a GM because I’m obsessed with the feeling of a great session: tense negotiations, cinematic fights, and those “oh no… oh YES” twists. I love building immersive worlds and then watching players break my plans in the best possible way.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Supportive, professional, fun. Three words is a hard limit, but I always look forward to player feedback, reflecting and adjusting to provide a fun and immersive experience.

How Amon runs games

Every group is different, and every campaign is different. With that said, you can expect a solid mix of action and roleplay, with the occasional puzzle. I run long-form, thoughtfully planned campaigns with big set-pieces and player-driven momentum. Character motivations are deeply tied into backstories, it’s never just “a few strangers meet in a tavern.

I prep by

I prep by keeping tight continuity and pacing: with player consent, sessions are recorded and transcribed so I can pull accurate recaps, track NPCs/threads, and weave your choices back into the story. I use a stack of tools (Foundry VTT, Discord, curated music/ambience, maps/handouts etc).

My games focus on...

My games focus on player-driven storytelling, meaningful character choices, and cinematic set-pieces with a strong mix of roleplay and tactical action. Your backstory, goals, and relationships are woven directly into the campaign so your character arc genuinely matters.

Rules are...

Rules are the foundation, and I run mostly Rules as Written, but never at the cost of fun. If the table hits an edge case, I’ll make a quick ruling to keep the pace and lean into the rule of cool when it supports the story, character development, and fairness.

Amon's ideal table

My table is friendly, collaborative, and player-driven, equal parts cinematic and grounded. Expect a good mix of character roleplay and big, satisfying action, with a pace that keeps things moving. I run long-form campaigns where choices matter, so players who enjoy investing in their character, taking notes (even lightly), and engaging with the world will fit right in. The vibe is supportive and respectful, with plenty of laughs and banter at the right moments, but we can also switch into serious, high-stakes scenes when the story calls for it. I’m big on spotlight-sharing and making sure everyone gets moments to shine. New players are welcome, I’m happy to teach as we go and keep things clear. If you like meaningful character arcs, tactical-but-fair combat, and a GM who’s prepared but flexible, you’ll feel at home here.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

If you're into player-driven stories, cinematic set-pieces, tactical-but-fair combat, and characters that grow (RAW when possible, rule of cool when it matters), you're going to love my table. If you're into long-form campaigns where your backstory matters, big action hits hard, you are home.

I love it when a player

I love it when a player commits to their character’s choices, engages with the world, and helps share the spotlight, whether that’s taking the lead in a scene or setting someone else up for a great moment.

My table is not the place for...

My table is not a place for bullying, bigotry, harassment, or disruptive behaviour. Respect and shared spotlight come first; no griefing or surprise PvP. We use safety tools and keep the game welcoming for everyone.
