About Zach
Hi there! Im Zach, your friendly Canadian DM! I've been playing and running Ttrpgs for over a decade, with a focus on 5th Edition D&D. Im a husband and father to two rambunctious boys, a disabled veteran and lover of all things fantasy. I enjoy books, games, the outdoors and all things nerdy. Im an ally to all of my LGBTQ+ folks out there and am interested in creating a safe, inclusive environment, where people of all walks of life can come together and play games! Storytelling is my great love, and the thing i am most passionate about. I've spent years in the attempt of improving my skills and growing my experience as a DM. There is always more to learn, more to experience. And I look forward to running games for you all. You can expect roleplay with unique voices and characters, custom maps, integrated music and custom tokens when playing at my table, so take a seat and let's start the story!

I became a GM because
I love telling stories, and DMing let's me create a space for me to do that, as well as invite others to come in to do the same. Ttrpgs are also games, which i love to play, they combine two of my loves into one.
My favorite books are
My favorite books are the Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Riyria Revelations and Kings of the Wyld. The first two are series, but id say they count! Bonus answer, as a kid i was obsessed with the Inheritance cycle.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Spending time with my kids, my wife and my two cats. I spend alot of time outside, hiking near my home where I help clear trails, having fires in my back yard and gardening. I also love gaming and listening to audio books.
How Zach runs games
I tend to rely on three principles of play: Roleplay, Lore/World-building, and Challenges. Roleplay: The most important part of a Ttrpg (it's even in the name!) Roleplay is what separates Ttrpgs from other games out their. I put a heavy emphasis on engaging roleplay, well developed npcs, and individual character story. You can expect npcs with interesting voices, nuanced opinions and villains you will love to hate! (Or smooch, i don't judge). Lore/World-building: What is a story without a setting! From established I.P. worlds to Homebrew settings, you can expect detailed descriptions, in depth Lore and a living, breathing world that will change with player choices, and respond in kind. This can come in the form of Custom maps, Lore docs, and props like journals, letters and the like. Challenges: What is an epic adventure without conflict! From combat to puzzles, you can expect a variety of challenges. With combat encounters with puzzles, traps, secondary objectives and usable terrain, no combat is simply just a combat. Puzzles, dungeon crawls, traps and riddles(I love riddles) are all in the table!
Zach's ideal table
You'd enjoy my table if: -You are a big roleplayer -You enjoy a good scrap (in game of course) -You want a game with nuance, drama, romance and epic moments -you like unique voices and interesting npcs My table is a story forward, narrative table where stakes can be high, with a healthy dose of humor.

I am for a vibe that's...
Story driven, funny, dramatic and intense!
I love it when a player
Makes a backstory they are interested in, commits to roleplay and has a desire to learn and play!
I think it's a red flag when players...
Is checked out and not invested. If you aren't interested in jumping in to the story, and committing to at least try, this isn't the table for you.
