About Nate
I've been in love with storytelling since I was a little kid. It's my favorite part about table top RPGs since I value the collective and unexpected stories that emerge in play because of a story's heartfelt impact. I've been DM-ing TTRPGs for about 5 years and have been playing for about 7 years. I cannot stop world-building and I am a chronic daydreamer when it comes to the worlds I've built in my head. TTRPGs are one of my creative outlets. I also make music, write short stories, and occasionally draw when I'm feeling adventurous.

How Nate runs games
Roleplaying and consequential decisions. Following the narrative. Varied encounters, combats that are fun and challenging. Social dilemmas. Making the players feel like heroes. Interweaving backstories into broader conflict of sessions and campaigns. Weird settings and magics and the freedom to choose your path.
Nate's ideal table
My ideal table is one where everyone cares about the story we are all telling at the table. Also, a table where everyone is fans of each other's characters and offer moments to build meaningful connections and storylines with each other in-play. Players who fit well at my table are players who pour heart into their characters but also recognize that the RPG is still an RPG and the story told at the table can take unexpected turns. Players who are respectful and gracious in interactions will find my table welcoming. The vibe at my ideal table is fun, invested, and story-driven.

I love it when a player
offers opportunities for other players to interact with their characters and allow their characters to care about the stories of the other characters in the party.
I think it's a red flag when players...
focuses solely on the mechanical part of the game to the detriment of the role playing part of the game. Everyone roleplays differently but TTRPG should not be a math problem solely. Players should always in some form or fashion roleplay when playing the games I run.
