About Sam
I have been DMing Dungeons and Dragons 5e for the last 4 years. I have been running near-weekly sessions for friends and family in 2 long-form campaigns, both times from Level 1 - Level 13. These both started with premade modules that evolved into homebrew campaigns continuing the story and taking these characters of a memorable and unforgettable journey. I have decided that I now want to take my games into the online space to experience this wonderful game with new players and hopefully sharing some fantastic and epic adventures on the way. So please if you're looking for adventure, step into my Tavern!

When I decide to ask a bunch of friends off the cuff if they wanted to play Dungeons and Dragons. 4 years down the line and I have DMed for them on a near weekly basis!
How Sam runs games
I believe that all three pillars of DnD (Combat, roleplay and Exploration) are all vital aspects to fully immersing yourself in to the world of Dungeons and Dragons. In terms of roleplay, you should expect NPCs that are believable and fleshed out. They will react appropriately to the actions that you, as players, take and improvise to what you throw at them. I also believe voice acting really helps immersion, so nearly all NPCs will have a voice or accent them helps stand out, hopefully making them memorable and recognisable. I try to bring the world to life as much as possible, through images and music to really help set the scene. The most important thing for me is that the world be dynamic. For example, if a town has been warning the party that they are concerned about an Orcish warband threatening the town, and the players don't handle this threat and don't return to the town for a long time, they may find the town raided and destroyed. The world will continue moving whilst the players are away and it will react to their actions (or lack of). In combat I like my players to feel challenged. I believe that if they have just defeated a big boss the party should feel relieved that they have just overcame this challenge. I will try to play intelligent monsters intelligently and in character. But I will also fight fair, the dice will decide your fates! I understand that combat is important to some and will always try and have at least one significant combat a session.
