About WeaverGM
Hi! I'm Weaver, and I've been a worldbuilder for as long as I've been daydreaming. I always tried to think up games to play with all my friends, and eventually this led into the love for TTRPGs and Roleplaying. I started DMing D&D campaigns 5 years back, and although I never really get the chance to play myself, I'm very happy to provide a world for others to immerse themselves in. I'm a little bit of an anxious introvert, but with this account I'm hoping to branch out and meet new people with a passion for storytelling and worldbuilding.

I became a GM because
I was hopelessly addicted to TTRPGs but couldn't find a GM of my own. So, I figured I'd just become the GM for everyone else, and make the kind of worlds that I'd want to explore every inch of.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
"Extreme controlled chaos" -My Friend Ginger I would've thought "Comfy, chaotic, fair" myself, but at least they think I have things under control.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Streaming, worldbuilding or working on future campaigns. Sometimes all three at once!
How WeaverGM runs games
As a GM my biggest strength is creating expansive worlds for the players to immerse themselves into. I want to create scenes and settings where you're able to just slip out of yourselves and into the role of your character, and truly feel as if you're a part of a living, breathing world. I'm no tactician or Matt Mercer, but I have my own unique strengths I bring to the table. I put a heavy emphasis on player freedom, only ever dropping hints when they're needed, or to remind players of crucial details. The worlds I make are giant sandboxes, and every corner of them has been considered to make the experience of exploration feel fresh and rewarding. Whilst I've only been seriously DMing and exploring my creative side for the past two years, I've felt the bud of imagination we all have beginning to grow into something truly wonderful. Learning my own unique style has been a challenge, but I'm finally ready to take on DMing as someone who knows what they're doing.

My games focus on...
Telling a story. Primarily, one focused around the player characters. TTRPGs are a group storytelling endeavour, and I love nothing more than providing the right environment and conditions for my players to be able to tell the stories they love most.
Rules are...
The backbone of a TTRPG, but certainly open to interpretation. If the scenario calls for it, and it sounds really cool and fun, I might just ignore certain rules. If it makes sense within the narrative, anything is possible. God help us all, anything is possible.
When it comes to voices
I'm certainly no voice actor. My native accent is northern-English, and I try my hardest to stretch this accent as far as I can. I find this helps cover a lack of skill, since most people assume the English accents are fairly fantasy coded anyway, haha.
WeaverGM's ideal table
Constantly balancing laid-back vibes and locked-in vibes was a much less difficult challenge than I thought it'd be. In one instance at my tables we'll be giggling over a silly joke, and the next we'll be locked in as Gor'gax the destroyer is marching into the battlefield. Sometimes, we'll even be making jokes about Gor'gax too. I want to keep the vibes at my table cosy enough for people to relax out of themselves and into their characters. Never feeling too tense that playing becomes uncomfortable, and never feeling too relaxed they become bored. Players who have a vested interest in storytelling, exploration, keen eyes for detail and a rich imagination will fit in very well at my table. You don't have to be the best at voice acting or the smartest at coming up with solutions to problems. What matters is that you want to play a character, and tell a story, and that I'd love to help you tell it.

I am for a vibe that's...
Comfort first. I want all of my players to be able to experience the cosy vibes that they need in order to lock in. As such, my style of DMing will always be focused primarily on making my players happy. That's not to say it's a power fantasy though, there'll be plenty of challenges to overcome~
I love it when a player
Thinks outside the box. I plan encounters tightly, or so I think. Every armour has it's gaps, and players are a clever sort. Eventually they will find a little gap in the armour, derailing one of my encounters and forcing me to improvise, and I love it.
My table is not the place for...
Min/maxing characters, being a lone wolf, or metagaming. If a TTRPG is a cooperative story, then min/maxing is a power fantasy, being a lone wolf draws the lens of that story on you unfairly, and metagaming ruins characters.
