I became a GM because
I just wanted to keep telling the stories that made my family have so much fun back in the summer of 2003
I got started GMing...
When I was 8 years old and my dad introduced the family to Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition (Not 3.5, 3e had just released) his campaign stopped after summer but I was reading the handbooks since then
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Pathfinder first edition Pathfinder second edition Draw Steel
How D B Halbert runs games
My games are always unique to the players. Through this service though I look forward to have punchy tactical combats, connected to general overarching stories, that are easy to have people hopping in and out as necessary. Oh, and Prewritten modules, In my experience there are a lot of those out there that are really good that no one seems to ever see.

I deal with rules issues by...
a case to case basis, some rulings game be handled on the fly, rewarding those that keep everyone honest, others need to be addressed outside the session, because it would slow things down too much to address it in the moment.

Rules are...
What define a system, they can be bent and broken, but if you don't know them in the first place you are not bending and breaking the rules you are ignoring them.
D B Halbert's ideal table
I tend to run a game that focuses on understanding the rules, but rolling with the punches once the actual rule has been made known. I like the idea that someone could come to my game, and know what to expect because they know the system and not have to worry about how I will interpret. I will not slow a game down looking up rules unless it is necessary, but if someone has the rule on the top of their noggin I reward helping us play the game we agreed to play and not something that just wears that game as a skin suit.
