About Max
Hi, I'm Max! I started being aware of what D&D was in the early 2000's when I was a young kid - A long time family friend house had a whole room dedicated to D&D games, miniatures, figures, and anything else you could think of - and I was hooked instantly. I was always a huge make-believer as a kid, and this was right up my alley. I started getting a better grasp and consistent in middle school (about 2017-2018) and it blossomed much much bigger when I hit high school a few years later. I was one of the founding members of my high school D&D club, and was a player in multiple of my friends games - as well as running a few of my own! Like most people I think I love fantasy, for the escape from the real world that it is - but also for how much of the world I can bring over into it. I love the build up of the story, the characters arcs taking place, and the way you can build realistic yet fantastical lives that feel like a true part of you. I would call myself a pretty intermediate knowledge TTRPG Player and GM, but I am always up to learning and getting better at my craft! No AI, no generated interactions, all humans and all human made.

I became a GM because
I'm a bard that can't play music or sing
When I'm not running games I'm...
Working full time in a bakery - and on my off days, I'm making art and thinking about any and everything while Youtube plays in the background.
How Max runs games
I love puzzle solving, roleplay, and high-stakes encounters that leave every player and their characters with something to do!mI like to set things up so that everyone and their character feels that they are truly collaborating and contributing, and try to hold all these ideals in harmony with each other. My campaigns are heavy on the roleplay more than the fighting of baddies, or that every single detail has some bigger meaning and you need to write everything down all the time or you'll never "win" - I simply love entertaining. If that means writing a homebrew story about each of the characters stories coming together to create the big bad that they're all following or fighting for the greater good, that means just as much to me as a silly campaign of oops all bards. At the end of the day, I am an entertainer and I long for the crowds.

Max's ideal table
Players who love in depth storytelling, funny improv, role-play heavy campaigns, and rule of cool would love to be at my table! I like to 'Yes, And-' More often than not, and My biggest inspirations are Brennan Lee Mulligan as the GM for Dimension20, and Griffin McElroy from The Adventure Zone!!

I love it when a player
Gets excited about doing something - And puts themselves really into the game!
I think it's a red flag when players...
Follow every single rule, and don't sway anything with their characters or gameplay- and make that everyone else's problem.
I think min/maxing...
Is a good idea sometimes- But I think stats can be really restrictive in the wrong ways sometimes.
