About Aster
I’m Aster, a player-focused GM who runs roleplay-heavy D&D 5e campaigns in custom fantasy worlds. My games focus on player agency, character choices, living worlds, political tension, and stories that grow from what the party does. I like giving players freedom without letting the game become random chaos. Rule of cool is welcome at my table, but the world still has logic, consequences, and limits, so victories feel earned. My strongest area is roleplay, worldbuilding, and adapting to player choices. Combat happens when danger, story, or player decisions call for it, and I try to make those fights matter.

I got started GMing...
I started because it seemed fun, then quickly realized I enjoyed creating worlds, adapting to player choices, and seeing players become invested in their characters.
I became a GM because
I love building stories with other people and watching players turn a world into something alive.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Creative, patient, and flexible.
How Aster runs games
I run sandbox-style campaigns with an ongoing main plot. Players are free to chase personal goals, follow rumors, build alliances, ignore obvious hooks, or make choices I did not expect. I adapt the campaign around those choices while keeping the world consistent. My sessions usually focus on roleplay, exploration, character decisions, and consequences. Combat is not forced every session, but when it happens, I want it to feel connected to the story rather than random. I use Discord for voice, D&D Beyond for sheets, and D&D Beyond Maps when positioning matters. I am comfortable helping newer players with character creation, rules, and table expectations.

My games focus on...
Living worlds, player choices, character growth, and campaigns that feel like a second life rather than a simple quest chain.
My favorite trope is...
The self-aware idealistic hero.
Rules are...
Important guardrails. I respect the rules, but I also allow flexibility when it improves the game without breaking fairness.
Aster's ideal table
My ideal table is cooperative, creative, and willing to engage with the world. You do not need to be a perfect roleplayer or rules expert. You just need to respect the other players, pay attention, and be willing to make choices as your character. Players who enjoy roleplay, character growth, strange fantasy worlds, moral choices, political tension, and stories with consequences will probably fit best at my table. Min/maxing is welcome as long as it does not ruin the fun for the group. If you like building strong characters, I can work with that.
